Weekend Footy Gameweek 17

Chelsea and Spurs games are always big games.

This season was about laying the foundations for a new Chelsea team top 6 would still be a great achievement given all of the circumstances.

Everyone including Chelsea some fans got a bit carried away with the football we were playing and the great run some people were even suggesting Chelsea were title contenders.

I wouldn’t write top 4 completely off for Chelsea even if they lose to Spurs who are currently on a very good run but any chances of achieving a top 4 place will probably come down to the level and quality of business that can be done by Chelsea in January.

Fair summary Nine. Chelsea are a real tough one to call this season. Is this just a mini slump or the start of a downward spiral? As you say, what they do in January could be the answer to that

Ed, tbh I think Chelsea are still competing to try and finish in the top 6 and even that won’t be easy.

Top 4 was probably a bridge too far this season. Only thing that might change that is some encouraging signings in January.
