Van Dijk is a special player, not a journeyman.

All teams, regardless of how good their academies are, have to buy players. Barcelona buy players, they are widely thought of having the best academy in the world.

Pagan – he came through the Utd academy.

A lot of players have medals for just playing a few games. You used to have to play ten games, but that all changed.

That said – he probably didn’t play for us! So probably just has the one, sorry.

I remember that Carragher had a go at him and Simpson after Raneri was sacked. Carragher thought neither had won anything, and they came back with PL winners. Carragher thought it was from when they were at Utd, and forgot they won it 6 months prior. So I assumed they both had.

Simpson certainly played a few games for us, Drinkwater maybe not.
