This should take a lot of pressure off England. They’re basically qualified now. I can’t imagine England not beating Panama next and then the last one against Belgium won’t matter too much.

Why is Sterling always awful for England. The difference when Rashford came on was massive. He’s been very good for City this season but is he destined to be one of those players who never shows up for England? Neither Lingard or Alli were much better but I expected so much more from Sterling.

Agree completely Ed, Rashford should have been on even earlier. I think that some of the star players in the team generally believe their own hype whereas players like Rashford strike me as quite a humble lad who just gets on with it.

Can’t dissagree about about Sterling i was diaspointed but I don’t think Rashford was the difference. For me it was Loftus Cheek who made the runs and the corner for the goal. Rashford did little apart from not even attempt a sitter. Henderson had a good game, breath deeply there I’ve did it Lol. Maguire was a bit loose at the back. Alli and in fact all the team lost their movement in the second half. Don’t talk to me about VAR. We should have won that 4-1 at least.

Agree they deserved nothing Jim. Don’t get me wrong, Rashford wasn’t great, but for me, he just changed the dynamic a bit in wanting to go past people. He should have done much better with the chance he let run through his legs. I still feel Rashford is better coming off the bench so I’d give Sterling another chance from the start tbh.

He wasn’t outstanding Adlab but, for me, he looked so much more dangerous than Sterling. I like Sterling. I think he’s had a very good season which is why I expect more from him. No red tinted glasses here. If 11 City players lift the World Cup, I’d be over the moon mate. I genuinely couldn’t care once they pull on the England shirt

Personally I think young has earnt his place at LB with recent defensive performances in that role Adlab. Tonight he had little to do. Stones had a good game and so did Trippier. I think Sterling was sadly anonamous but nearly everyone missed aome great chances in the first half but no one really had a stinker.

We shouldnt be arguing/debating fellas we won. If and when we beat Panama we should be though. Then we have to take our chances in the next stage. Most impressive side so far is Spain for me. Brilliant play. We’ve sinply played ok and got a result with little or no luck. Can’t ask more than that as an England fan. Cheers Jim
