30th August 2026 at 4:41 pm #255083Nil thats been common knowledge and mentioned on these forums for several weeks if not months.
I even highlighted it as an issue before Edwards left that our two main recruiters are both heavily rumoured to be off and where that leaves the summers recruitment.

30th August 2026 at 4:48 pm #255089Been rumoured heβs going a while now
750m spent including barcola and theres huge gaps in the team. Crazy stuff
If gakpo goes. We need barcola, another right winger who can cover isak aswell and maybe another
A right back and midfielder. This reminds me of 2012 when you didnβt support rodgers.
Feel sorry for the manager. This team will struggle with a few injuries . You dont need a crystal ball to see gomez, isak will miss a good few games. Bradly and eitike are gone till 2027
First rime in a while ive really thought what the fook are we at

30th August 2026 at 5:10 pm #255106I think we all feel that way Sean, but still a couple of days left. Not much confidence, it’s not like Hughes needs to build for the future, he won’t give a damn.

30th August 2026 at 5:32 pm #255126Guys, I honestly was unaware, even of his juggling with Al-Hilal. So it seems he had a decision to make. Interesting timing with a new Consortium and the nearing end of the Window.
I imagine he will remain and see through any deals already in the Pipeline.
End of an Era.

30th August 2026 at 6:04 pm #255143This is not news, both him and Edwards will leave by the end of this season, all of you are worried about our attack right now and I got no worries as soon as Barcola shows up.
I am not worried about the offense this season, the only thing I worry about is the defense, especially the right back situation as we are putting a lot of faith in Bradley and Frimpong.
I donΒ΄t know if Frimpong can change his game play, he needs to stop bombarding that right flank at every opportunity and remember that his end product is next to zero and his defending is erratic.
IΒ΄m seeing our fundamental approach in attack chance right now, we are opting for something else than last season where non of our wingers could beat a man.
This is the last season we have this hierarchy behind the club. They are both gone at the end of the season and Hughes is likely to leave before. We have seen windows that have been described terrible for us in the past, only to actually become the best windows we have ever had.
This is one of the biggest transitions ever and we are only unlocking the full potential of our attack with our latest transfer Barcola. We are lucky enough to find Munoz for peanuts and have Rio bursting out otherwise we would be looking for another 120-150 million player.
We are gonna have Barcola on the left, Wirtz in the middle, Munoz on the right and Isak up top. With Rio backing them all up.
IΒ΄m pretty sure that January might turn into a good window for us, if we do not get all of our targets. Like you are complaining about us not signing players that have 20 apps and maybe 5 goals in total or 27-28 players that never really hit their full potential. Which we are never gonna sign, the last player I remember over 27 was James Milner.
If we have a small squad we are gonna have a bad run in the cups, as Jayden Danns is likely to feature if available.
Then Ekitike is such a prospect that we can not block his path into the team despite him being injured. I get everyone complain about the window so far but it is not as bad as stated.

30th August 2026 at 6:11 pm #255148I think as Carra pointed out, we kept buying nice technical players just as the league was getting ever more physical. FSG youβd think gave the recruitment team more power to ensure the team was correctly balanced. So whether you give the manager full say or the recruitment team full say, both can still go wrong. It needs to be a balance between the two.

30th August 2026 at 6:20 pm #255153Mikuis, we are a soft team. No nastiness in us. Far to soft no one who is up for a fight

30th August 2026 at 6:36 pm #255158We presumably hired in the role of a Coach (as JobTitle). So when the player points out, I need XYZ, surely with that he’s thought about the different Types and Ilks required or that we have dwindled over a handful of years.
If the SD Or SD’s are hands on with Recruitment and all the wheeling and dealing, surely they would allow suggestions and propositions brought forward giving the full backing and overseeing largely the financial aspect and the terms and conditions of the player’s contract.
If there are and have been hierarchy/power struggles, this would have reflected with the way the last 2 years have panned out. And I’m talking whilst we were still under Jurgen’s watch. Edwards walked and Slot was fired.
Has there been all along a common denominator?

30th August 2026 at 8:24 pm #2551783p’s, I actually thought it was quite a long time back re Edwards; last season towards the end. Couldn’t have been that recent of his departure.

30th August 2026 at 9:53 pm #255187Thanks 3ps,
Looking forward to drawing a line under Hughes. I don’t see Amit Bathia and the new Consortium as ‘Silent Partners’. If anything, he came across very pleasant and humble and clearly a fan of Liverpool.
He’ll want his say with the Fenway Group in who we now appoint as Directors. Somebody who will work really well with Andoni.

31st August 2026 at 12:03 am #255201Honestly I thought it was Hughes not Edwards that left early, we need to wait a window or two until we can make up our mind about their dealings. I wrote a few posts about this scenario last season, cause they were always on their way out.
