‘Asian Sensation’ – In the UK, the Far Left are people like the entire Labour Front Bench and Sadiq Khan. They’re all members of the Fabian Society, and if you knew anything about them (including their sigil) then you might start to get it. The discourse in the UK around things like taxation is totally warped – we’re now hearing things like 100% inheritance tax being suggested, or 50% wealth taxes. If you’re an Asian, try explaining that concept to someone from Hong Kong, Singapore or any Asian territory.
The Far Left are the people who call everyone Fascists, Far Right, Nazis and whatever else when they are confronted with anything they can’t argue against. If that rhetoric doesn’t breed hate and violence, as was the case for Charlie Kirk, then what else does?
Look at the reaction of people like Jimmy Kimmel who attempted to gaslight the US – look at the hundreds of thousands of people celebrating Kirk’s assassination. You can’t tell me that the Far Left isn’t the single biggest issue facing the West whilst this goes on. Especially whilst they advocate Trans-ideology and mutilate young children, inject them with hormones, and divorce them from their loving parents. Wake up, and grow up. Your analogies are just dumb.
Chucky – wasn’t referring to you with the ‘just desserts’ comment. I was referring to the many hundreds of thousands on X, etc, suggesting Charlie got what he deserved. It’s sickening, reading those comments. I’m a Father, and thinking of 2 children losing a loving Father who completely rejected political violence is something which cuts deep with me.
I think the idea that a US president would be able to launch nukes or carpet bomb large swathes of the US population in the event a significant proportion rose up with their own firearms in protest against tyrannical policies is totally unrealistic. You would see mutinies, the media would get involved, the US has checks and balances etc. I understand the point your making, but it’s also the reason why the Chinese Govt has supreme control – the Govt there has all the weaponry and there’s no risk of an uprising, no matter what laws they pass.
If there is any place where democracy has real consequence, then it’s the US. Otherwise you wouldn’t see Trump in power.

18th September 2025 at 6:10 pm #226947The 2nd Amendment argument simply isn’t applicable to today’s society. It was writen when the country was still in nappies, still in fear of being invaded by countries like Spain & France, let alone England trying to take it back, and even if the then US Governemnt did get all “tyranical” it would have been a relatively fair fight in those days, certainly compared to the current US Government and it current military might.
Somehow, if the US Government was to get all “tyranical”, I don’t Billy Bob and his two sisters with the hunting rifles are really going to get very far with a 750 billion dollar a year funded army/navy/air-force, do you?
As I mentioned, if you (or whoever) want to keep guns, your argument is “Fuck off, I like guns!”… (and there’s nothing wrong with wanting to keep something you like, even if it is purely designed to kill other people) but don’t give me some bullocks about a piece of paper writen 250 years ago when the world was a very, very different place.

18th September 2025 at 6:44 pm #226951Chucky, you’ve totally ignored the point I made about China. A place where the people have to suck up whatever the state impose on them, because the state own all the hard power, and all the organs of state administration. You also ignored everything I said about Leftists mutilating children on the Altar of Trans Ideology. You said you agreed with Charlie Kirk on certain things – let’s hear about that.

18th September 2025 at 7:03 pm #226952I agreed with Charlie when came to the need to talk about things, I agree with Charlie when it came to the DEI (sorry, but the most qualified person for a job is the person who should get it!), I kinda agree with him when comes to immigration (it needs to be controlled, not just let the floodgates open) and I certainly agree with those who say murder is a terrible thing…
Why are we bringing up China here? Don’t agree with their government, and in case you hadn’t noticed, certain Presidents in the US have been deploying military units in cities very, very recently… or are you seriously suggesting the US was in actual danger of turning into China?? I think we both know that is a ridiculous notion, and certainly not a realistic excuse for allowing Billy-Bob to keep his shot-guns. You might as well suggest people should have guns in case aliens invade… 🙂
As for the mutilation of children, which is disgusting, why stop at pointing the finger at those you mention? Why not mention all the various socities who mutilate their children in the name of religion or long-standing tradtions?
You mention Jimmy Kimmel, I know of him (although I have no idea what he has supposedly said), but what happened to his 1st Amendment rights here? Shouldn’t he be allowed to say whatever he wants? Agree or disagree, like or dislike, but isn’t he allowed to say it?
Oh, and just for the record, I would consider myself very much middle of the road (by European standards) when it comes to politics (which I supposed would make me a bloody Commie by US standards! LOL!).

18th September 2025 at 7:55 pm #226955I liked Charlie Kirk I thought he spoke well and would debate anyone and wanted just that including the professors
The gun thing is a totally USA thing never to be understood unless born to it I don’t thing the gun thing is purely left or right but mostly right, their constitution is almost a religion in itself.
Im more worried by our leftist lot and the crippling of the country that is accelerating under them.
Left or right all politicians are not good but I must say it’s nice to see British flags flying when it’s not a royal event
You could almost feel patriotic and get nostalgia which of course the brits and English in particular have not been allowed to feel for a very long time.
Geo politics is as ever a mess but a few clued up lads here could be some good chat if people can stop being so polarised
You can a little from both sides if a point is good

22nd September 2025 at 3:45 am #227196Sorry ed, ive been inundated with work and personal matters(i also assumed since the international break was over, we had bigger fish to fry). Thank you for your mature response and education of British politics.
Just asked every man and his dog and the response generally was “labour are not far left”… now thats not to say there general manifesto isnt far left! However what laws have labour passed in the past year that you would say encourages “Trans-ideology and mutilate young children, inject them with hormones, and divorce them from their loving parents“?
Your point about my “analogies being dumb” were actually in response to your support of charlie kirk and using cars as an analogy to support having guns(as part of the 2nd amendment). You see guns were invented for the sole purpose of war (killing people) whereas cars were invented for the sole purpose of transport. So i find it highly strange you could support such an analogy?? You dont ever buy a car so that you can use it as a weapon(maybe its different in your part of the world).
The 2nd amendment is dated.. i agree with chucky, threeps and so on, its purpose has come to pass… Americans need to move on! When you have 40,000 people dying every year from guns… something drastic needs to happen.
Ed i assume youre from the UK? A country that doesnt even allow you to buy more than 2 packs of paracetamol… for the protection of its people, thats highly commendable in my eyes.

22nd September 2025 at 5:29 am #227201Guns give people a feeling of power of life and death, and people like that feeling. The 2nd amendment is just a load of outdated rubbish they hide behind, they just enjoy the elation that power brings to their sad little lives.
I was military, I’ve held guns, probably more powerful guns than anyone else on here, I know how it feels but I also knew and saw what destruction and misery they can bring, and I didn’t need that feeling of power in my life other than for the purpose of my job.
But American Christian Conservatives, for whom I associate guns with more than anyone else, are like a cult. A Cults purpose is power and with that control, no one will be able to convince them their behavior and beliefs are wrong.
