Was on holiday in the great Texas capital of Austin when I saw a text in my local Brit group ‘awful news regarding Jota.’ My heart sank even before I opened the Beeb website.

He should 100% and without a doubt, still be alive.

Without a doubt Rob. I was at work at the time and like yourself, I received a message from one of my mates on the group chat. Thought it was some kind of fake news online (and wish it was).

It’s been a Sombre day Bingo; pretty much a day spared for Diogo and his Brother. 29 no age. Heartfelt by Liverpool. Never in my life to have experienced as a supporter an actual First Team Player losing his life.

We can always Remember him and send a *Prayer*

I think I was around 14 when I lost my first friends from a car crash, then a nephew shortly later. It’s always tragic but there is another group of friends that haunts me more and those are all my friends that lost their life to the leading cause of death in males under 50. I don’t wanna name the cause but we should all know what it is. I think I lost 30% of my friends that way from my youth or 20s that way and all I will say it’s easier to make it as a athlete than a artist. Friends of mine were for example lined up to be the opener for Slayer during a European tour. In the metal world a opening does not really come bigger except it was Iron Maiden or AC/DC. Slayer got more folklore than Metallica in my mind, way heavier and way more fun. My friend who was the vocalist died in one of the most painful ways ive seen a man go. There are actually two from the same town that performed the same public display. I’m godfather of one of those bastards children. I know there are a lot of broken people on this world, me included and probably everyone here so I like to remember that before I judge people.

No worries mate, experience comes in many forms and this one one of them. I doubt I would find as much joy in taking care of a town of 1000 with work. If I don’t get up nobody gets to get up.

I remember ReykjavΓk being on shock last year at the start of the year, we lost a few people that were loved. Nothing we are not used to but this one particular ceremony broke us all.

It was actually very nice as we all broke at the same moment, we all had a look around and saw the same sad face we all shared that day.

I’ve maybe dealt with more of this than Slot and management last season, I can’t say I was happy with how they went ahead after the news came out.

They sold players without letting them grieve, is was wrong. Or loaned out like they were expendable, I did not like it one bit.

The only player that took it too heart was sold out to Bayern in my honest opinion, he has played like the devil is about to snatch his ankles since then.
