I have to agree with Sean on this. Juventus although played great, United were just dreadful. Spurs played Juve off the park last season and were unlucky to lose against them.
Part of me believes it is Lukaku. The guy has been terrible this season and deserves to be dropped. He is extremely easy to play against. Jose was at fault too, where were the subs. The midfield lacked energy and he could have brought on Herrera/ Fred or Pereira, brought on Chong. Change the system a little.
What confidence does that give the subs when he does not have any trust in them to bring them on.

Had it on in the background, doing other things, and every time I looked at the screen, the Old Ladies and their LadyBoy seemed to be doing all the attacking, that’s for sure.

overall this season yes they should be extremely disappointed but last night they just came up against a much better team, who were very good last season when spurs played them but have improved since then. spurs played very well against them but they knew they could just sit back, soak up the pressure and eventually we would make mistakes – which is exactly what happened. last night juve came out from the start and attacked. they got their goal and then played on the counter. they are just so organised and quick and fit that you cant let them get in that position.
i agree that lukaku us a big part of the problem. he just isnt very good. last night he was getting bossed off the ball or as usual, losing it with his first touch.

I don’t think United purposefully sat back last night they were forced back particularly in the first half by Juve’s football and Juve are stronger this season over last season with Ronaldo and Bonucci in the team and they were unfortunate to get knocked out Real in last season’s competition. Difficult to look past one of Juve, Barca or City as eventual winners but it’s a Cup competition so sometimes the bvious doesn’t happen.

Lukaku frustrates the hell out of me. At the World Cup, I honestly believe he was the best striker at the tournament. Aside from probably Mbappe. Then he turns out for Utd and turns into this static, wasteful, technically poor excuse for a striker. Is it Mourinho’S fault or is he just not suited to our game? I honestly don’t know but going purely by performances at the WC, I honestly wouldn’t have swapped him for anyone
