I think Jones has been key in our turnaround in form from the tail end of last season to now. Should be first choice in the team now, we’re a lot better balanced with him. He should really have started vs Utd, but he obviously played in Europe a few days before.

Perfect Display and really made my night last night. Endo worked really hard; Jones was impressive with his overlapping runs and runs through the middle; likewise with Harvey Elliot.
Just one more important match to reach another League Cup Final 🙂

This talk of Van Dijk being back to his best I’ve not really bought. For me it’s as though he plays far too casually at times. Also I still maintain we’ve got a problem up top. Just not dangerous enough there or enough goals from the front players. This goes back sometime to a few seasons ago when in 3 finals we never scored a goal. We are where we are purely because of the mentality and grit Klopp instils to keep getting us over the line.

Mikus, fully in agreement. I’m pissed off in all honesty as I’ve not enjoyed the first half; not so much being a goal down, but our output up top as you quite rightly point out.
We should be bullying and dominance at least. This has always been a long standing problem when we lack a natural dribbler and a finisher. And somebody in the middle to also chip in.
There’s more than one of our Anfield Games that have been a such a hard watch it’s de-appetizing.

The front players have been a work in progress since the Salah Firmino Mané era ended, but Gakpo & Jota clearly better in the middle. Nunez clearly talented and a handful and is actually very fluid with his pace and strength to play anywhere across the front 3 but seems to be effective now as an assist maker in the wider areas coming up with the odd goal – a bit like Diaz in that sense. It’s maybe not what we thought we might be getting with Nunez but he obviously is contributing.

More than one team has frustrated the hell out of us this season at Anfield. We can’t break them down. We miss a natural dribbler and a finisher. Our strength is the counter.
Willian usually plays good against us. But I’ve said all along, we can’t take any opposition for granted and fall asleep at the wheel.
Lots of injuries granted which adds to the frustration and we were forced to utilize our squad; hats off to Connor Bradley who really put in a good shift.
Timely and a much need break for 10 days. That will do us good for Reset. 3 Big games coming up to shape our season.

Need to really be in tune tonight. Fulham can quite easily turn the tie around in what will be a lively Craven Cottage.
No easy ride at all, so need to get over the line so we can have a repeat of the 2022 final.

Hmm, it’s quite a weakened line up. I would have wanted Alisson in goal ahead of Kelleher. Happy Gakpo is in and obviously Macca to. Gravenberch starting as well so should bolster the midfield and supplement the defense.
