the most influential transfer policy we have is no assholes, if you have ever met a professional footballer you will know that those are rare, I got two nephews that made it as pro´s. One is a outstanding asshole and would have had a much greater career, the other it a outstanding individual and person and probably made more money than the former.
BTW we are finally getting close to the age of handball tactics from the 90s in football, Rob you will enjoy this if I can make this rant long enough as back in the day while I was training both football and handball, plus basketball. No sport had as much emphasize on tactics as handball.
I had to learn overloads at the age of 10 in handball, on both flanks, I either played as the shooter on either flank or in the middle dictating play. The closest we have is a 7 vs 7 game in football, I never had a football coach that explained how you could overload one flank in football but it is a easy lesson and it works.
There is another lesson in handball and that is you can´t switch off for the 60 minutes of play, every time the ball goes out the clock stops. I would actually like to introduce the sub rule in handball to football, where you can actually sub off any player at any given moment. It´s unlimited subs… So you can have one team for attack and another team for defense.
But then at 11 years old I had to learn 15 different systems to overload the opposition, I would not say that any of my football coaches tried to explain space in the same way but the lesson went into my football game. I preferred to play as a defender in football or in midfield even though my coaches put me up front a few times.
So these triangles we are creating now intrigue me, I really wanna see how we are gonna lineup before I make my judgement about the team.
We spent 120 on Barcola, we spent 120 on Wirtz and we spent 120 on Isak. I wanna see them play together before insisting these two windows were a failure because we spent 360+ on our strike force and it´s just beginning to make sense.
You are blaming Hughes for assembling the most expensive strike force ever, this window is a failure after we assemble the most expensive strike force ever before they have played a game together.
