I think the point most people are making is that the unbalanced squad is of our own making. Hughes’ job over the past couple of years has been to replace and replenish the squad – he’s done half a job at best.
I think the thing some people seem to be missing is that we are short NOW. Bradley and Ekitike are out long term. Leoni is a youngster who is coming back from a bad injury and Gomez never stays fit for more than a couple of games.
So having already had full knowledge of the above, how will we cope if we get another couple of injuries to key players? The answer is, compared to our rivals, very poorly.
