Well thank fuck that’s over! We can get back to the proper actual football. Quite surprising we didn’t go for a left back but with Rashford staying Dorgu is probably going to rotate with Mazraoui as back up to Luke Shaw. I think the midfield, whilst not exactly the swashbuckling rebuild it was billed as, is in better shape than it was last season when we had to resort to putting Ugarte onto the pitch knowing we would instantly concede 2 goals.
I think the team has goals in it going forwards. I hope the midfield has more balance and offers more protection to the backline and i think Lammens is a good goal keeper.
But i am pretty fed up watching Shaw and Maguire line up for us every week in the year 2026!
Let’s hope next season its 4 or 5 new defenders and we have a proper team.
I’d take top 5 and CL football again this season so that we can make a bigger leap forward next summer!
