Defenders are a bit different to other players and he was the world´s best defender, Thiago was the best player on the planet IMHO. Milner of course but he was a free transfer. You can´t go too far back as that is not FSG and they have a pretty defined transfer strategy!
Then we are talking about freebies or players for cheap. FSG are not gonna sanction a 60-75 million transfer for a old player with no resale value.
