Personally, I’d be sad to see Gakpo leave. I have nothing against him. All that Slot stuff last season I would place in isolation. He was a Top Signing back in 2022 and complimented our then Firing line.
He will get you goals and most of all, we will miss his creativity even though he’s been (rightly or wrongly) criticised for being one-dimensional.
I recognise on the basis of the Barcola business we are of course trying to recoup money, but to sell to one of our rivals is not great practice.
We’ve got to look beyond 11 players on the pitch and it just seems we are not learning from a planning and rebuilding point of view.
