I disagree about MacAllister I think he’s terrible as a 6, he needs to be further forward if playing at all. He’s poor physically, not sure where his “gets stuck in” reputation comes from, he’s either easily bypassed or brushed aside, the latter usually resulting in him rolling around hoping for the whistle. But his passing range is limited. Excellent at little intricate passes needed further up field but poor at medium to longer range needed as a 6 and hasn’t got the skillset to make space like Gravenberch by gliding past the press.
Rumours are building he will be off in the summer.
We need physicality in the middle agree Sean and I know you’ve been saying that for a long time. We been linked with Wharton who is a very good player but he would have similar issues to MacAllister mentioned above if our sole no 6. Angelo Stiller would be similar.
Baleba type? Is he disciplined enough to maintain cover for bombing full backs or does he want to get forward himself?
What we need is Fabinho cloned as a 22 year old. Physical, disciplined and good passing range.
And a coach that plays such a player of course. That’s the biggest issue this season.
