Thinking of adding Palace to my mini hate game list of United and Everton.
We haven’t beaten them in 18 months dating back to October of ’24 when we ran out 1-0 winners at Selhurst Park courtesy of an early Jota strike. Worst stat tho is that we haven’t beaten Palace at Anfield for 5 years, yep, half a decade, winning 3-0 with strikes from Mane, Mo and K…a (I can’t bring myself to type the fucker’s name).
Beaten just three times from our last nine matches including that crap Community Sheild defeat which pretty much set the tone for our season.
Palace have been all over the place this season though not winning 33 of their 51 games but they’re essentially safe in the PL for another season (43 pts) and will most likely have one eye on next Thursday’s Europa Conference Semi against Donetsk.
Who will start?
Woodman, Gomez, Konate, VVD, Kerkez, Grav, Mac, Szobo, Wirtz, Gakpo and Mo is my pick. Isak isn’t ready to start. He looked like me out there against Everton.
Sarr and Mateta (predictably) on the bench against West Ham on Monday and no doubt will start. Glasner is no mug. He knows what he’s doing and sees this fixture as his easiest of the season.
Three points a must as there’s sod all for us at Old Trafford next week for us and then new manager bounce for Chelsea the week after.
Liverpool 2 Palace 1 (with many nervy moments including Mateta targeting Konate and Sarr will having his usual success against us). I would absolutely, not, at all, rule out another cock up but think we’ll edge it, just.
Over to you lads.

24th April 2026 at 11:29 am #244502This Palace side has caused us a lot of pain this season, time to teach them a proper lesson and crush them into oblivion.
One thing though, Wirtz and Gravenberch have got to improve on their passing, they give away the ball far too often, can’t even complete a simple, short pass.
Now let’s win this game comprehensively.
Woodman
Frimpong KonatΓ© Van Dijk Kerkez
Gravenberch Szoboszlai
Salah Szoboszlai Gakpo

25th April 2026 at 11:24 am #244542I still think we got to be looking over our shoulder re Brighton Bournemouth as they are not too far away points-wise and are capable to pounce on where we are.
I like them both with good Managers and at the very least would like to see them qualify for Europe. All in Forest, Villa and Palace have done England proud with their progress this season. And what a blast last night!
That has to be a new record for the most goals scored in a half and away from home (I think we done that to Man United at Old Trafford a few years back).
It’s the Semi-Finals for these teams so we can hope for them wanting to rest players or use them more carefully for minutes.
This is at Home so we really should be fearless and at the same time be hungry and out of the blocks. None of this second-gear lark. We have a tough tough match next weekend which I’m not at the moment looking forward to.
Villa play at lunch time today so hopefully, Fulham can help us and then we can try and nail all 3 points. Anything more than 2 goals will leapfrog us over Man United to 3rd Place. Great incentive and we should all in all have our Tails Up.

25th April 2026 at 2:21 pm #244552Gravenberch dropped, which is a rare occurrence, perhaps his wayward passing, as I mentioned earlier, proved a step too far for Slot.
Wirtz also, needs to stop giving the ball away so cheaply.
Now let’s do it.

25th April 2026 at 3:26 pm #244559But ginger its up to us to get the ball to them. We are being bossed at home yet again.
Isak probs touched the ball about 4 times. Its awful. Crowd is dead. Its just desperate to watch
They look so much better coached then us.

25th April 2026 at 3:31 pm #244560Iβve just watched Gakpo win the header from the goal kick, head on into space and no one else read that.
This is what Iβm talking about.

25th April 2026 at 3:49 pm #244566No letting up, we have to increase the pressure even higher in the second half and score more goals, with Rio and Frimpong to come on.
Plus keep a clean sheet.
