@threeps what the hell are you on about??
“If an opinion differs from your own its ignorance, but I guess if yours differs from others that’s ok, right?“
You think this is personal? Ive mentioned you proved me wrong about macallister? And ive pointed out the respect i have for you, rob, ginger, etc about your football knowledge/acumen??… And ive agreed with a lot of what you said… look at the “thumbs ups” youve got from me! Maybe, Its actually me thats giving a different perspective of what you lot are saying… trying to be positive in troubling times and not jumping the gun… but you gentlemen have to bring us down to your levels of negativity.
“we can all see how the squad can be improved and where gaps need to be filled.”
Obviously not, cus i mentioned this a few times at the start of the season(long before hindsight kicked in)… and you were quick to point out we had spent 450mill and THATS IT, NO MORE… and when i tried to justify that £450mill was pretty much made back from selling/losing big assets… you were quick to make me sound like a cunt for bringing up “Jotas insurance” payout…
“How do such good players, and we do have some very good players,“
Youve just answered your own question.. “some” very good players… when you compare our overall sqaud we are not better than City or Arsenal? Our fullbacks, who were the masterplan of our setup have either been injured, of form or just crap ALL SEASON, thats in attack and defence… speaking of defence Konates always had silly mistakes or was bullied since day one… a bit like gomez(see Real Madrid home tie 5-2 for best example)… hes been hot and cold all season, in defence that could lead to conceding… that with kerkez being wrong sided or losing his man every other time… leoni and gomez injured… allison in and out and marmadashvilli not as good as kelleher as a replacement. From my experiences defence is the root cause of confidence that filters right through the team!
All the above leads to this… “look like they’ve never played or trained together“. You cannot have a cohesive team and chemistry when key pieces are missing pretty much all season.
Salah, wirtz and co. Missing sitters and chances game after game has got nothing to do with training… could be psychological, confidence issues or just plain luck. Goals change games, for me the football is no different to last season… its the goals that are missing… our top signing is a crock only wirtz and ekitike have proved to be good but not great from our new signings.
I do agree about your training points, weve traded aggression and intensity for flair which has led to tippy tappyness, flicks, backheels, nutmegs… for me thats not football… and most teams will punish you for that. Also slots poor use of the squad has caused players to look fatigued and sluggish hes not used rio, endo, calvin ramsay and to a lesser extent cheisa.. more importantly he hasnt improved them. Contrary to what people might think… im not pro-slot or blinded to his weaknesses, i just think a lot of whats said seems emotional, desperate or just plain irrational when theres still a lot to play for with little time left.
You mentioned hindsight in an earlier post… Would you now say we had a better team last year compared to this year? has our competition got better? Got luckier with injuries(rodri, saka, odegaard)?
Besides nunez, i believe slot would have wanted diaz, jota, taa to stay and then add our new players… like what arsenal and man city have done.
Anyhow threeps, i kinda pissed you off earlier in the season, im sorry. Thats my bad! hope youre good my brother and i look forward to a positive response.
