Expecting Mo to be fit but Alisson won’t be and apparently Frimpong was taken off against Ecuador as a precaution which means he won’t be fit either. No clue on Gomez and never ever do have a clue on Gomez.
Decent cup results against City over the years with the last FA cup meeting taking place four years ago this month beating them 3-2 at Wembley in the semi-final with goals from Konate and Mane (2) which gave us a 3-0 half time lead but ‘sharing is caring’ and we allowed City to pull two back through Grealish and Silva. We eventually went on to beat Chelsea in the Final on penalties and all the penalty takers that day are no longer with us and pardon the expression relating to Jota (Milner, Thiago, Bobby, Trent, Mane, and the winning pen from Kostas who will be back with us this summer).
Anydo’s, onto Saturday and who will start?
Mama, *Gomez, Konate, VVD, Robbo, Grav, Mac, Szobo, Wirtz, Ekitike and Mo is my guess.
*Is he fit? Christ knows. If not, then we know Szobo will start there and then rinse n repeat….ponderous start, stupid mistake, Haaland goal, 1-0 half-time, come into it a bit second half before an avoidable second seals the game.Without any doubt, home win.

As a one-off game, we’re really going to have to pull our socks up and give everything we’ve got if we really want to push all the way. A win of course will get us in the Semis and a Trip to Wembley.
Dominik Szoboszlai will be a Key figure for us for sure. We have to watch out for Silva as he is still one of the most influential players for Man City. We simply have to be alert and I think selection wise, we’re going to be needing experience heads like Salah and Robertson who’ve been there along with Of course Van Dijk and Konate who will really need to bring their A Game as with everybody else to stand a chance.

That completely slipped my mind Ginger. Gosh, I do hope that does not happen otherwise we are doomed from the start. Doku will make mince meat and we’ll be thrashed.
Surely Calvin Ramsey should be given a chance or alternatively Joe Gomez or even Andy Robertson!
Need to formulate the right people in the right playing positions. I wouldn’t be surprised if Curtis Jones is chosen for that position.

If Gomez is fit and like Rob I cannot keep track of his fitness, then he has to start at right back and let Szoboszlai play in the middle.
In the past I have moaned at Sean for being pessimistic but I have to agree with him now. Think it will be one team well coached (but nowhere near their former levels) versus one that hasn’t got a clue what it’s supposed to be doing, accumulating in the substitution which will one day be spoken about in legends and myths, Chiesa on for Konate with less than 10 minutes to go and everyone running randomly around the pitch.
3-0 to City who won’t need to get out of 2nd gear.
Slot has turned believers into doubters.

I said it weeks ago, I think Gomez should have been utilised in away games and Frimpong home, and they can share mins in game.

Yeah, hard to disagree with any of that 3ps. I mentioned bringing our A game, but with this being at the Ethiad as well, we’re going to need something extra special.
The writing on the wall or the ‘script’ sounds all too familiar especially with the players randomly running around hoping somebody will miraculously pull a rabbit out of the hat.
I was thinking back to when we played the Gunners on their turf and in my eyes earned an impressive 0-0 draw. This is a Cup Match though and I don’t think it will be a cagey affair at all. We could be completely steamrolled if City really are on Fire.

I know Sean, although it took a bit of convincing if I remember correct!
I still have faith in most of the players although I think the PL and football in general is in decline with regards to quality. We should at least have put up some sort of title defence which really bugs me.

Right, our mission is clear, qualify for the CL, and everything else is a bonus.
But we still have to go all out to win this FA Cup tie, if nothing else, to build up and strengthen our winning mentality, which has been too inconsistent of late.
Once again, Slot has to keep it simple, playing players in their rightful positions, and the players have to show fight and passion, and belief that they can win.
Now let’s do it.

I’ve actually become more of a negative nelly!
Definitely justified though. Sure we’ve had our moments here and there, but that’s it really. Our season has been disappointing.
Unless something dramatic takes shape over the next 7 or how many games left, then more pain to be inflicted. Nothing will change Managerial wise till possibly summer. I could handle us losing better if we showed a fight in our performances and give us something to hope for.

These players have to stand up Songman. I don’t want us smashed to pieces or any of that late goal drama and certainly not what happened to us last time we played City. I just hope officiating and VAR don’t play up. A narrow defeat I can probably live with if we show fight.

Doesn’t look too much wrong with Frimpong in the training pics today (until he plays that it) and also Gomez was pictured along with Chiesa.
If we play the right players in the right spots with a high tempo and the right tactics we can beat City, no doubt. But that’s a lot variables that have to come together and don’t trust this outfit to reconcile those and execute.
Haaland will be fresh and ready.

Had a look at a couple of places online on predictions and nobody in their right mind would predict a Liverpool win. I’d be filled with hope if Pep fields a more ‘weaker team’ and Slot plays Ekitike and Salah as a 2 in the formation.
PSG next Weds as well which I’m sure will be in the minds of the players. 2 Cup Finals I would say to save the season.

Well, we can celebrate that each of us have made it Today. 14 Days exact since our last game, and now we’re here on the 4th April.
No Pep today on the main forefront, but I’m sure he’ll be on his Walkie-Talkie haha 🙂
We either grip this match right from the start or we can play the Underdog and to try and nullify Manchester City, wear them out and go for a smash and grab. This is probably our Best Hope for today. We get something positive from today from a performance point of view should we even crash out to take into the game on Wednesday. Up to the Guys now on the Pitch to stand up and be counted!!
