This is exactly why confidence in the manager continues to decline. The repeated poor decision-making, especially in key moments against low block teams raises serious concerns. With the quality in this squad, we should be competing at the top, not losing to a relegation-threatened Leeds side and historic rival. I feel for the fans who went to the game. The players are ready, but the leadership isn’t matching that level.

It was a good game against the Gunners, even though the red card spoiled it a bit. The lads put in a real shift especially James, despite essentially playing against 11 men plus Taylor, who always seems to favour them. I was pleasantly surprised by Maresca’s game management after the dismissal. It looks like he’s finally learning from his earlier mistakes and didn’t panic this time. This Arsenal team is definitely beatable, and without the red card I genuinely think we could’ve nicked it. It’s a long season, and if we keep playing like this, we might actually be right there challenging them for the title come April or May.

That was a professional performance from the lads tonight. credit to everyone involved. I can’t remember the last time I genuinely enjoyed a match of this magnitude. I was actually relaxed as we put half a dozen past them, even if they were down to 10 men. Cucurella and Caicedo were pure class tonight. We’re lucky to have them.

So we’re playing with a false 9 at home while three strikers sit on the bench. What does that say about our recruitment? We bought two strikers in the summer and even recalled another from loan, yet the manager clearly has no confidence in any of them. If that’s the case, why did we sign them in the first place?

We were honestly lucky to walk away with all three points against Burnley, they were the better side for large stretches of the match. Delap works hard, but sometimes he tries too hard, and it affects his finishing. If I’m being honest, Guiu looks like the more natural striker right now.
Looking ahead to the big games against Barca and Arsenal, I don’t see us getting results if Maresca continues with the same approach he’s used all season. Aindro, it feels like Maresca has convinced you that this current lineup is the best, but I just don’t see it. How do you start both James and Gusto when we have so many midfielders who can fill that role? Ever since the Club World Cup, he’s used that setup in big matches, and it simply hasn’t worked. We’re basically fielding five defenders — six if you count Caicedo’s deeper role and that kills all creativity in the team. And why was Josh dropped after putting in some of his best performances? So many decisions just don’t add up.
I’ll hold my final judgment until after the Barça and Arsenal matches, but right now I don’t see any cohesive game plan from the gaffer. There are a lot of question marks.

This is the story of Chels under this ownership, one step forward, two steps back. It’s beyond frustrating. The main problem is the manager and his constant tinkering with the lineup. We had two proper strikers on the bench, yet he plays George as a false nine? Why is Josh sitting out? Why is Hato being played out of position? None of it makes sense. Do you think Mourinho would’ve underestimated a team like Qarabag, away in Baku with a fired up home crowd? Not a chance. He’d have gone full strength, killed the game off by halftime, and then rotated. Maresca keeps overcomplicating things, and it’s costing us results we should be cruising through. I’m genuinely tired of this experiment.

If our half dozen scouting team is paying attention, players like Mateta and Semenyo should definitely be on their radar. Both are proven Premier League players who can handle the physicality, intensity, and pace of the league, qualities our current squad still lacks in key areas. We need players who can make an immediate impact, Marc Guehi would be another fantastic addition if we can bring him back on a free. He’s solid, composed, and already familiar with the club. exactly the kind of decisions we’ve been missing lately.

Ed, yes we’ve definitely improved in terms of scoring from set pieces this season, and credit where it’s due the coach deserves that. But given that so many teams are now using long-throw tactics, you’d think we’d have a clear plan to protect the six-yard box. And be fair to the set-piece coach, I did notice yesterday that they tried having three outfield players stay up near the halfway line, which does help by reducing the number of opposition players crowding our box and makes for an easier counter, It’s a smart idea in theory, we just need to execute it better.

We really need to find a solution for breaking down low blocks. I couldn’t believe it when I saw the stats that we’ve conceded four goals from long throws in our last four games. What’s the point of having a set-piece coach if we can’t sort out something as basic as that? Aindro, while Sanchez has improved, he still has mistakes in him as Ed pointed out and to be fair, it’s not just him, Tosin and Chalobah are in the same category, good players, but more suited to a mid-table side than a club aiming to challenge for the league year in and year out.

Delighted to come away with all three points, Spurs were dreadful, and we could have easily scored more. I thought Fofana had a solid game. We’re truly blessed to have Caicedo; I honestly don’t know where we’d be without him. Once again though, Maresca disappointed by playing defenders in midfield when we had capable midfielders sitting on the bench. I’ve noticed he does this every time we face one of the so-called big six. Ed, it’s clear Maresca doesn’t trust Guiu, he could have caused real problems for their defenders when the game opened up in the dying minutes. As for the sporting directors, I’m still not sure what the plan is with all these signings. If they genuinely want to fix this mess, they should start by sacking Stewart and his partner, who squandered millions on the likes of Disasi, Sterling, Koulibaly, Kellyman, David Fofana, Ugochukwu, and others. It’s baffling how so many people can be involved and still fail to make a single sound decision. We have been yearning for a lethal striker and an experienced leader in defense, but they dont seemed to understand/want to address this.

Form tends to go out the window when it comes to a derby, and I just hope we go to the Lane and pick up our customary point, though I wouldn’t be surprised if we lose to this Spurs team as they got good players and a manager who seemed to have found a system . Mind you, they’ve only won one Premier League home game since the start of the season, and that was against Burnley. Aindro, I wouldn’t risk playing Fofana in such a high intensity match. he might break again. I’d stick with Josh, who’s been our best defender lately. I’d also start J Pedro just behind Guiu. Whatever lineup the manager goes with, I just hope we come away with at least a point.

Aindro, I have to completely disagree, the blame lies squarely with the manager. As Ed mentioned, we’ve got plenty of talent at our disposal, even with a few players out injured. Yesterday’s loss is 100% on him. We had Guiu up top as our No. 9, young, hungry, constantly trying to run in behind yet no one was passing or crossing to him. I doubt he had even 10 touches in the opposition box. That’s a clear lack of service, especially considering we have players capable of delivering accurate passes and crosses. The problem is the manager’s cautious setup, everything is side or backward passes, no urgency, no creativity. And this was Sunderland at the Bridge, not Barca or PSG! How did we allow them to bully us? Then there are his baffling substitutions. I’ll never understand what Josh supposedly couldn’t do that Tosin could. All Tosin managed was to slow the game down and commit one of the worst defensive errors I’ve seen from a professional in a long time.

Every time I try to give Maresca the benefit of the doubt, he shows his in experience and incompetence. We look like a team without any real system. most of our wins come from individual brilliance or sheer luck rather than tactical setup. I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again we’re not winning any major trophies with him in charge. And can someone please explain his substitutions today? Taking off Josh, our best defender on the pitch, and Garnacho, the only attacking threat we had at the time, was baffling. It’s the mark of a manager who gambles rather than leads with conviction. There’s no cohesion, no discipline, and certainly no courage in the way we play. Stamford Bridge used to be a fortress n, ow even a struggling sides can walk in, take all three points, and celebrate in front of our own fans. It’s painful to watch.

That Forest owner is something else. I actually like Forest, but if he were running any other club, I’d probably be wishing for their relegation. The way he treated Nuno, a manager who made Forest a fortress and took them to Europe for the first time in over 40 years was disgraceful. Storming onto the pitch to publicly scold him in front of the whole world was one of the lowest moments I’ve seen from an owner. That’s what happens when wealth breeds arrogance and entitlement. And now, if the rumors are true that he’s looking to hire Seab Dyche a man who plays worse football than Nuno. well, the madness just continues. what do you think of Guiu performance? His cameo was a breath of fresh air. He might still be raw, but you can see the instinct of a true number 9 in him, always looking to stretch the defense, pressing aggressively, and positioning himself intelligently inside the box. His movement alone caused problems that Jackson and João Pedro haven’t been able to lately. He brought urgency and intent when we needed it most. Hopefully Maresca rewards that impact with more minutes, because there’s real potential there. he just needs time and confidence.

That first half was absolutely dire, we were lucky to go into the break level. Credit to Maresca though, those substitutions changed the game completely. Still, we were far too open and handed them way too many chances. on another day, we could’ve easily lost that. Hopefully, the manager shows the players those moments and uses them as a learning experience. And you know what? I can’t even remember the last time we were the ones to cost a manager his job, maybe Tony Pulis back in his West Brom days but I’m glad we finally stopped being a charity FC and handed the ex-Spurs boss his final nail in the coffin.

Our trip to Forest tomorrow has all the makings of a banana skin. Forest haven’t won a single game since August, back when Nuno was still in charge. And honestly, Chelsea 1967 you might be right, we’ve been a bit of a charity FC lately, handing out first wins to struggling managers like Amorim. It would be peak Chelsea if, after beating the champions last week, we went and lost to a Forest side that hasn’t tasted victory in months. You just couldn’t make it up. I will be pissed if Maresca plays James or any other player out of position and we lose again.
