I think signing Zlatan is a backward step though – as they were not very mobile last season and Lukaku carries more threat and variety. I can’t see both playing upfront and zlatan will agitate if he doesn’t play – so I think it will harm them.

I don’t get the ones wanting the easier smaller teams – you want to be in this competition as we consider ourselves one of the big guns and to play europes elite.

I don’t want us qualifying for first time in years to end up in a group with Europa league standard teams – we may as well stay home and play Everton and Arsenal ??

Bring them on, and win lose or draw at least we are on the biggest stage in club football

The pitch finally has a proper irrigation system underneath – so no more laughing at the drenched guy with the orange shovel desperately trying to direct the water onto the pitch

Asking today, it seems FSG have had a change of heart about Anfield Road and are looking to see if it should be bigger – but the archway beam of the new stand is hamperibg the corners being filled.

Agree Sean, I think Moreno isn’t a top 6 team standard. Speaks volumes for us if he gets any more pitch time.

I’ve been sent a link to see Craig Bellamy saying on Tv a similar thing about coutinho – can’t seem to paste it here, do would suggest googling it. If Klopp had his way he would have sold him.

Story I’m told on coutinho is that Klopp wants to sell him and bring somebody in for a similar price tag, but the owners want to keep him. Klopp has urged them to engage and negotiate. He rightly sees PC as a luxury player.

Not sure of all the reasons why but they were unhappy with the Suarez deal and also how Barca are talking to the player on a daily basis, via 3rd parties of course. They thought the Suarez deal reflected badly on them.

I thought he was to blame for at least one goal at Watford when he was wrestling the lad to the floor while another ran in behind him. Plus he creates panic and is a bit prone to a Bruce Lee challenge for no reason – will never be a decent player. In half paced friendlies he looked ok.

Big win, we needed that.
Didn’t play too badly, nor too great, but Gomes and more importantly Robertson looked excellent. Gomez tired towards the end but Robertson was excellent – great debut.

Good to see Solanke and Salah get on the pitch too.

I’m not sure why it’s stalling as all the plans have been drawn up and approved by FSG.

I think one delay is due to the club not wanting to use Carillion again, although they do want the same subcontractors – and are trying to position it.

I think Carillion were one of the ones from the main stand who didn’t cover themselves in glory, plus they look like they are about to go bust. I hope this is the only reason for the delay.

Reckon you’re right.
I was pretty set against the idea until I saw it in action.

The atmospheres need some perking up and it won’t be long until sky realise their product is worth far less if the atmospheres reduce any more on grounds across the country. I can see a sky initiative soon that tries to remedy this.

Cheers HH – think everything went off the boil around December time – team, manager, crowd – I do like the new stand though and they’ve done more work on it this summer and it’s all fully operational now.

 

Tricky subject Ed.   I feel really disloyal to the families of the 96 even entertaining it but I’ve been to the Allianz arena a few times in the last two seasons and I think it works really well.  If anyone ever gets the chance I’d recommend a visit – as it’s fantastic and the guy at the front who orchestrates things is worth his weight in Bratwurst.

Love that logic about benteke mate, hope it’s right, but that we get a goal!

I’m loving the atmosphere at anfield since the stand was built. This season is the first proper use of the POTS areas and dressing rooms – so let’s see if our boys enjoy the experience
