One of the problems with these lists is the bias towards attaching players. DDG surely needs to be higher, how many points etc has he more or less single handedly won over the past 5 years or so? Mikhi-thingy somehow makes the liat despite regularly not making the matchday squad? Now putting my blue tinted glasses back on where is Stones (brilliant this season), Mendy far too low (maybe because of imjury) and no Phil Jones (needs to be in purely for the entertainment value and gurning)

Another tough away win chalked up – good to see us winning the games we would have drawn over the last few seasons. Need to keep going as a few tough weeks coming up that could undo the great start we’ve had.
GJblues – McLeans decision not to wear a poppy is shocking in my view. Very poor form to disrespect the hero’s that protected his freedom to make such a decision

Jim – not just the keeper (who looks a million miles better than Bravo!) but the full backs have made a huge difference for me this year. 3 very good signings (gutted about Mendy but hope he’s got many good seasons to come) and Delph has done a Milner at LB

Absolutely magical player but could see signing him potentially breaking the team spirit that Pep seems to have installed. How much would this suppress the development of Sane, Jesus, Bernardo etc as everything would be Measi for the next few years?

Maverick – from a personal point of view I hope you are right mate :-). Saw an interesting stat that after 7 games of the 2010-2011 season both manc clubs had 6 wins and a draw also. I’d take that season again, however not sure my nerves would!

Agree 999, 90% is pretty conclusive albeit the low turn out. Ether the polls were garbage (again), lots of floating voters changes their mind last minute or the Catalonians wanting to remain chose not vote when the gov declared the refuemdum illegal

Whilst both city and united have made very impressive starts, I just don’t see them running away with things. The league is too strong overall, especially with all the European games (lots more hopefully for city to worry about) and injuries starting to kick in. There are 6 decent teams at the top, with Everton threatening to join next season once they’ve bedded in the new players and started to click

One thought, would independence lead to Barcelona leaving the Spanish league? If so, this could be the catalyst for a European super league as the lost revenue to la liga would be huge

Very sad to see how the Spanish government have handled this and hope things calm down quickly. I’d seen reports that the vote was likely to be much closer, with the “remainers” likely winning (however polls etc tend not to mean much anymore). Surely the central government response will further galvanise the independence push however

Did not see the game as middle of the night out here but seems we never quite hit top form. Irrespective, 6 points from 6 is exactly where we wanted to be at this stage, decent result against Napoli next time out and we almost there with 3 still to go. Chickens not being counted, but getting the clicker ready…

While I’d echo what you guys have said I really think Pep will come good if he’s given the time. Let’s hope he does stay more than 3 years and start to build the foundations that will bring success for years to come. The owners seem to take the long term approach to things, really hope that continues

This season feels different to last year to me though. Agree not getting carried away but we seem to have a decent keeper and 3 quality full backs for the first time in ages. Hopefully this will help the centre backs as they’re not having to cover as much

I paid £40 for 2 pints of Asahi in the ritz Carlton bar at the top of ICC in Hong Kong a month back. How I wish for London prices (and quality at times) again!
