Good shout Sean. Kerkez did really well against Saka so could easily do a number on Greenwood too.

Konate has returned to France for family reasons so will likely miss Wednesday but at least he’s in the right place if he can in fact make it.
Frimpong Gomez VVD and Robbo for me Wed.

Houllier did not make one single big signing? Depends on definition of big (talent or cost) but Ged brought in some good players for tidy sums an’ all….
Riise 4m
Dudek/Kirkland 10m
Baros 3.2m
Heskey 11m
Hyypia 2.5m (bargain of the century)
Kewell 5m (proper talent but a crock)
Cisse 14m
Didi Hamann 8m (German international)
Spicer 3.7m
Ziege 5.5m (German international)
The great frees that were McAllister, Babbel and Litmanen._____________________________

Rafa’s dogged persistence with the 4231 and lack of flexibility cost him.

Bayeux are fourth from bottom in the Regional Normandie League, the equivalent of D2 in the UK. They would have been expected to also beat Angers as well.
I also did mention the ‘last two home games’ keeping it relevant to our trip there. They scraped a 1-0 win against Monaco and lost 2-0 to lowly Nantes. They’ve smashed teams they’ve been expected to smash but have dropped the ball against a few teams including the defeat above, Toulouse at home and lost to Atalanta again at home who are a bang average away team in the CL. Beatable but, as my post stated, I’m going for a narrow home win.

Edit what? The bit I added was the ‘four in midfield’ v Inter.

Bingo, it was RAFA that made the tactical switch in Istanbul to replace Finnan with Didi and go 352.

Bingo, Szobo has been, by far, our best mid this season but has played like a twat the last couple of games mind. We need some extra quality injected into our midfield but don’t think it will happen until the summer.

Probably Bingo. We’ve historically good at breaking bad records.

Would’ve been just 4 pts behind City and Villa and just as important, 4 pts ahead of 5th place United. Breathing space and more impetus to win at Bournemouth next weekend to push on (which we don’t do).
Shite.

Said to my lad this morning before I headed to a meeting to just watch Villa fuck up and make our result yesterday even worse. Typical of us. Completely.

Just shows how shit the Premier League is. As bad as Newcastle are, a win today would’ve put them fifth and a point behind us. Awful. We all deserve each other! Lol.

United and Chelsea being shite too Sean but we may see a resurgence from both now they’ve got new managers. A win today for both and tucked in right behind us.
Bournemouth away next league game. Hopefully Salah starts that. We need someone with finishing boots on up top.

Last 24 games in all comps.
Won 9
Lost 9
Drawn 6Only scored more than two goals in a game thrice (Frankfurt, Leeds, Barnsley).
Scored 32. Conceded 34. -2 GD
7 clean sheets.Just 5 wins from our last 17 league games.

And they’d been working mostly on converting chances at Kirkby this week.
Last 5 league games, that’s ten halves, we’ve only scored in 30% of those halves. 7 blank halves.
Our finishing is shite.

This is why we need a fit Isak and Salah back.
74 touches in the opposition box, 32 shots, 11 on target and an xG of 2.95 for Liverpool – but ultimately just one goal and one point.

We’re just generally shit at finishing.

That’s why I was so tempted to give them a goal.
