Mikus…but somebody with power IS saying it. I know the Govt backtracked on it but not convincingly in my view. You cannot help but think somebody is thinking of a day close to when this is over, then we will see how strong we are as a nation to re build, because it looks like we will loose everything now including reduced pension and loss of savings. I feel that saving for a rainy day, all those years, has been a waste of time now banks are on the take again, after we bailed them out. The money the Govi has made available, through Banks, for SMEs will not happen in reality because the banks want full control so they can pick and choose and add personal guarantees if you were lucky to get one. This has all been done before in the early 70s and the Banks killed it off. The same will happen again

What is annoying me at the moment is listening to Politicians, again with Newscasters asking the same dumb questions to get apolitical point across, like, Mr Prime Minister, should you have locked down earlier!!!!
If it was right/wrong it is now irrelevant, we are where we are and the people asking the question may have done exactly the same thing under the information at hand at the time.if they were honest enough. Lets have some sensible question which I believe the Govy are trying to give, maybe not perfectly, but but could you imagine Corbyn, Abbott and McDonell addressing the public. no thanks

Well I must admit if a lot ofpeople did go for a short drive, not even get out of car, this could present other problems as well, however, Oldies like me would have liked a short drive out because I can see it being very stressful for others, then the NHS will be stretched more and also give more daft ideas to the politician who thought there was too many oldies anyway and should be allowed to pass on….charming person The situation has to be controlled though and it is unlikely everyone will follow the rules if allowed to “potter out” With everywhere closed though I do not see where they could go

Mak…WOW…20 mpg I can only guess it must be Range Rover. I have had big engine cars but none goths low as that…It is the hills in Ireland that does it!!!!!!

I never believed manufacturers mpg either. On my Hybrid it was supposed to give 48mpg or thereabouts..in the real world I get 34. If I had an electric and it stated a range of 300 miles I would calculate on 200

Chuky…I am cynical because I believe we will get ripped off, we have no standardised charging system and already premiums are being charged for electrics and hybrids by Insurance companies I ca only see it getting worse. As to supply, we will not have enough capacity if all change and it will be impossible for many to charge overnight I do agree, the principle is good but the vultures see this as an opportunity

The other thing about electric cars is they are not as efficient as claimed and we are being hoisted up on them….then….just watch Electric prices, insurance levels and Road tax ALL leap forward and we finish paying MORE than with our old cars. It is a “CON” trick for extracting more revenue

Nine…the Hunt/lauda was not unique in F1. Other drivers had similar attitudes and experiences but there was also many really nice guys. I was fortunate to have worked within the F1 sport for a couple of years and travelled many circuits, sometimes pit side. I also co presented a presentation to the F1 drivers of the day in Geneva. Drivers like Stewart,Sippert, Hill,Rhindt,etc There was more actual racing then.

Rodwell story is truly strange. When City bought him, I think it was his first game when he passed the ball to a opponent who went on and scored. I thought what have we bought? In fairness, he did show glimpses of a really good player but he was not going to get anywhere in the City team of that time, who were no great shakes, but useful Sometimes things do not work out as intended

Steve….keep strong, explore every avenue to protect yourself and family. Beans and eggs better nutritional eat than Pizzas etc in my opinion. I could get by on them for a long time with toast. Good cereals also make a good start to the day, not the sugary ones.
You are right about the testing. I was connected to the Pharma industry for many years on the process side and the logistics of that are huge before any formulations are tried
Keep positive Steve, explore everything, don’t give up on anything and when it is over and you have achieved you will be a proud person

Mak…the other real problem to testing is the technology itself, not just about testing on humans it will have to go through stringent process controls and if just one breaks down, they have to clean everything out and start again. This is not a quick job. As to the testing humans, I do not believe in short cuts where medical formulas go, the risk is higher than the potential cure. I said earlier I would be surprised if they found the answer in less than two years Analysis has to treated carefully or some would jump on any sign that the processed has been cracked.We all live in hope though take care

Some good thoughts and reading there Mak. It is and will be a different world now, lets hope it will be for the better. I hope somebodyisplanning our future for when it is over but my feeling is that is a long way off yet.

Nine..I have said before UEFA,FA,Fifa = GREED They have no understanding of the current position or they would have closed down ages ago but they are trying to protect there millions and if they can find a way they would do it but this is too big for them to handle. Take the TV companies who want money back for games not played, where are these peoples minds? they make more than enough out of us to have agreed to a complete close down in the first place. Parasites..all of them

Nine…Boris gets criticised for going into lockdown earlier but it is the public….who he trusted would act sensibly…that have let country down…the ones who moan and do not follow the guidelines and act sensibly.
In the last few decades there has been a culture change, for the worse in my opinion. I am pleased are not near a WW3 scenario because most I doubt would serve Queen and country…it is a “ME” generation

Chuky…same as you but I am catching up with a lot of things I have been putting off for ages, plus taking some keyboard lessons on line.
Brexit…not worried about that…we, the UK, know what our terms are, let them worry about any suggested deal..not us.. I feel a lot better now not being managed by unelected and divisive people
