Sorry Nine didn’t realise you were picking up Nil for saying clearly over the line as you’re right it wasn’t. But the likely alternative to a goal would have been even worse for Chelsea which gives the whole argument an ironic twist.
To be honest by far the worst person to go on about the ghost goal is a certain Mr Mourinho. He is nearly as bad as Chucky for not able to let it go and hanging on to some disillusioned idea that they have had an injustice served on their team.

Tbh I think it was written in the stars that year for Liverpool and they went on to win probably the most memorable Final in the history of the European Cup/CL.

Threeps you were at the game? Supposed to be the best atmosphere ever at a lfc gane. Even Jose described the noise in the stadium. My nerves were gone all game. That was some Chelsea team but rafa got his tactics spot on for both games

So often I have voiced an opinion that goes against Liverpool’s interests and LFC fan opinion on many situations, like dives, red cards, penalties or goal decisions.
Is there really a need to call my character into question just because I don’t agree with you on a single incident?

Yes Sean mate I was there. And at the Juve game before it. To be honest I can’t remember too much about the game just everyone bouncing at the end. Was incredible. At the time I was a member of the East Anglia supporters club and got tickets for just about every home game and a few aways between 2003-2006. Not been to Anfield since.

Nine, only just saw your post mate, cheers 🙂 I had a still frame on my VCR at the time where the ball did cross the line and somewhere on the internet there’s an aerial view too. You’re right though, it is still causing debate.

Nil, it wasn’t a “CLEAR GOAL” 16 years ago and still isn’t today as Goal.com said on reviewing the incident in June 2021 “The referee awarded the goal, but even on video playback, the angles of the camera make it difficult to see if the ball truly crossed the line.” but either way it’s a pointless discussion it was 16 years ago for goodness sake who cares!

Nine, the angles I saw was conclusive for me. I’m not sure why you intend on repeating “clear goal”. That’s the thrust of my answer with the nuance of why this was brought up in the first place. As you rightly point out. It’s a long time ago.
