Any =body we should be eyeing up? Any potential players who have a good WC will end up with an inflated price.

22nd May 2026 at 10:46 am #246736Not sure how he’d fit for us since he basically plays in Fernandes’ role, but I think Nico Paz of Como is being slept on by all the big teams; the guy is class and think the World Cup will prove that and get his value soaring.
I also think Nusa (Norway) is on the cusp of becoming a very good player (though his end product isn’t quite there yet); a good World Cup may push him up though.
Personally I’m keping an eye on Mora of Mexico: he’s a bit young in terms of showing his stuff in this World Cup but, from what I’ve seen so far, he could be a real talent: two-footed, can play anywhere across the front line, not afraid to take on players…

22nd May 2026 at 11:14 am #246739Get a youngster like Fernadnes this summer to shadow him.

25th May 2026 at 9:33 am #247017I think he’s at Real Sociedad, he was at Real Madrid and spent basically the whole time out on loan before Sociedad bought him. I don’t know if I’ve ever seen him play but numbers seem respectable. In 219 La Liga appearances he has 51 goal involvements which is slightly less than 1 in 4 which is, at this stage in his career, significantly worse than Amad who, believe it or not is averaging 1 in 2 in the PL, statistically. But you know what they say about statistics, “lies, damned lies and statistics”.

25th May 2026 at 9:36 am #247019Kubo is Madrid youngster who moved to Real Sociedad; good left foot and capable of dazzling but lacks consistency. No one else is getting Paz except Madrid considering they have Guler and Mastantuono both gifted young left footed. Antonio Nusa has been around for a while but hopefully he has gained the necessary top division experience and ruthlessness infront of goal.
I would have suggested Mika Godts but he didnβt make the Belgian squad which was a shock.

25th May 2026 at 9:42 am #247021Nico Paz and Arda Guler can’t play together, so one of them 2 has to leave. Considering that both are exceptionally good, they can’t keep one unhappy.

25th May 2026 at 11:37 am #247039Well Madrid are going to exercise their buy-back on Paz, so unless they’re going to be typical Madrid and buy him with the intention of selling him for profit he’ll be staying. Guler hasn’t nailed down a position in that Madrid squad, should that be a red flag or just written down to Madrid being Madrid and he’s not enough of a superstar to be considered a starter?

25th May 2026 at 12:08 pm #247045Neither are superstars in Madrid’s perceptions, but Guler is exceptionally good!Would have him @ United tomorrow to replace Bruno.

25th May 2026 at 12:15 pm #247047If one of them are going to be sold this summer, we’ll miss out because replacing Bruno is not high on our priority list this summer. Nor should it be unless we get a mindblowing offer for Bruno and he decides to leave.

28th May 2026 at 12:44 am #247195Guler is an absolute talent and has held down his own in such turbulent times at the club plus he is one of the few players to have received praise from Perez this season at Madrid. The major problem at Madrid is Vinicius-Mbappe up top; you just canβt have 2 prima-donnas in the first 11 and expect to have some balance. In the past Bellingham and Rodrygo did most of the brunt work so Vinicius didnβt have to but this season Bellingham has been injured or when he did play it was in a midfield 2.

28th May 2026 at 3:29 pm #247256Paz might be able to sit deeper, back in that ‘Kroos’ role that Madrid are so desperately trying to refill. If that’s the case then one of Tchouameni or Camavinga will definitely go.

28th May 2026 at 3:34 pm #247257I would keep an eye out for Norway and the Turkey side, then of course Diomande and Ivory Coast.

28th May 2026 at 3:37 pm #247258Given Amad and Mbuemo’s form since they came back from AFCON I’d avoid buying african players if I’m honest. Both players are only now getting back to from having been in really good form before the competition. It basically took them out of the team for a month and then when they got back it was another two months before they were anything close to what they were before they left. Is it worth it?

28th May 2026 at 5:08 pm #247268Hakimi, Osimhen, Brahim Diaz, Pape Gueye, Lookman etc these players all played in the AFCON and still contributed significantly to their club after the AFCON. Amad Diallo got too comfortable and started oozing attitude while delivering Garnacho styled Performances.
Also PAZ is an attacking midfielder/inside left forward thereβs no way he can play the Kroos position; if anything Guler has been tried there and he was a bit decent but still not his best position either.
