I think last night must have highlighted, even to the most ardent of Carrick advocates, that the guy just isn’t up to it. He’d had three weeks with this mob and there was no sign that the three weeks was spent productively. His team selections are questionable as is his reluctance to change things round or introduce substitutes. And at no point during his tenure have I seen any semblance of a plan, and certainly not a plan B. Most alarming however, is that he doesn’t seem to be able to motivate these fuckers and get them up for every game and fighting for the shirt. Apart from Bruno there’s just no passion there at all. We need a top coach and I’m afraid he’s not it.

The problem with making a definitive appraisal after a loss is that its mainly based on the loss isn’t it? No other manager has picked up as many points as Carrick since he joined so there is overwhelming evidence that he is doing a very good job.
Must admit i’m not entirely convinced by Carrick and i do think this is just the new manager bounce that we never got with Amorim. That said who would you get in? There’s talk of Nagelsmann but he’d be a risk given he’s never managed in the Premier League. The other guy who must be in the frame is Iraola…_____________________________

@Happy manager of Brighton Fabian Hurzeler and Keith Andrews of Brentford had never fully managed in the league yet they doing tremendous jobs respectively so that’s not an excuse… and for Carrick i reiterate we have only had 2good games which was against Arsenal and Man City; the points are important but you can only get those points for a while playing badly and Carrick doesn’t have the required tactical nous to elevate this team.. remove Bruno from this team and there’s zero tactical shape or plan to beat an opponent because Bruno when he decides to show up covers up what the team lacks.

I think you’ll find I’ve been against his appointment since the very first day he was given temporary control happy. As I said in the previous post, last night merely highlighted his limited ability to get a regular or to be honest any fucking time out of these bums. And again, passion and motivation, whilst primarily being an individual characteristic, should also emanate from the manager and I’m afraid Carrick has no passion or personality, or certainly none that I can see. A wet cloth, that’s how I’d describe him.

Those clueless Ineos fuckers need to be sounding out managerial candidates now, not wait until the end of the season when it’s likely to be too late. Iraola is rumoured to be wanted back in Bilbao after he played for them for 12 years, so he needs to approached now as to what his plans are because I’m not seeing many other viable alternatives.

@Happy the league table whereby we play just 1match a week or sometimes one match in 2/3weeks while our rivals play as many games yet we still somehow play with zero intensity and tactical awareness.. if these reasons aren’t alarming enough for you then you are no different than the Gimps who were before INEOS and INEOS themselves..

If we end up with Carrick it’s not because they couldn’t get anyone else it’s because they didn’t want anyone else and chose Carrick despite the glaring obvious reasons it won’t work.. you can’t tell me Glasner or iraola or Nagelsmann would say no to us …
Yes @jm when the slump started at Palace some on here wrote off Glasner despite the fact it was the club and board who let him down first but he has done well and has them performing at their best again.
