Bloody good record at home to West Ham bar the odd hiccup like getting twatted 3-0 over a decade ago. Getting Phil sent off didn’t help but we were already 2-0 down at that point and then Mark Noble completed his brace late (a Mark Noble brace FFS, only us could give Mark Noble a brace).
Other than that, routine wins are usually order of the day against this lot at Anfield but saying that last season was bloody close needing an 89th minute winner from Virgil to take all three points. Looking to do the double over them too with us winning in Cockneytown 2-0 at the end of November courtesy of strikes from Isak and Gakpo.
I expect West Ham to dig their heels in and it’s not as though they’re getting battered in games, because they’re not so it could be a tight affair for periods and they still have their threats in the always hard-working Jared Bowen and less said about Summerville the better bagging the winner for Leeds four years ago at Anfield. He’s on a hot streak too scoring in 6 out of his last 8 games. I expect him to cause is issues and then there’s Soucek who always likes to piss us off plus Calum Wilson.
Who will start?
Ali, Gomez, Konate, VVD, Kerkez, Grav, Mac, Szobo, Gakpo, Ekitike and Mo is my pick. I’d fuckin’ drop Mo and Gakpo in a heartbeat but fully expect them both to start. Wirtz obviously would go straight in, but I haven’t a jar of his status. If he’s fit, I’d fuck Gakpo off. Gomez needs to start as West Ham like to play through their wingers but Jones could start there to preserve Joe who could come on later in the game to get a few minutes.
I wouldn’t discount West Ham past scoring against us, they ‘usually do’ two thirds of the time but I think we’ll shut them out. I’d like to see our GD up a bit as it could quite easily come down to GD at th’end of the season, but three points is the priority, and three points is what we will get.

This is before we play our last few games against our rivals.. so a good points lead would put pressure on them to get a win against us. However, we do have tricky away games to united and villa.
