      What a finish by Sesko.

What a fucking goal. Zico, I’ve been saying the guy has great touch. Needs more game time. Pulled them out of the shite again.

Could’ve also easily lost it as well!
Two great blocks from Yoro and a sublime finish from Sesko rescued a point.

A whole lot of people on here find it easy to slate players like Sesko, Yoro and to an extent Heaven. Whereas we have the same shower of shites who have been at the club for up to 10yrs giving mediocre performances consistently.

I do hope Carrick has also realized one of Cunha, Mbeumo or Amad has to sit on the bench for Sesko to start and if we aren’t playing top teams which will force us to play on yhe counter and defend compact then one of heaven or Yoro has to play in defence for their pace.

Facts, mate. The starting eleven was on benzo, no urgency at all. Good subs though. Harry wouldn’t do the same blocks as Yoro did and Sesko’s goal was exceptional but he can score some amazing goals. Carrick undefeated.

Yoro was fantastic tonight, made couple of worldly blocks very late on.Shaw and Dalot really have to be dropped for good.Sesko has to start, and Cunha dropped.

I suspect Maguire was carrying an injury from the first half. Probably out again. Dalot was fucking awful but then he wasn’t on his own. Main takeaway for me is, Carrick is no tactical manager. Nuno had him in his pocket. We pretty much looked like an Amorim or ETH team last night. Lucky point!

First of all in this league you can’t play the same set up with the same players every match and expect to get away with it especially with how inconsistent this lot can be. Secondly when we had the ball for most of the game there was literally not a single player in the opposition box all of Cunha, Mbeumo and Amad were outside the box expecting a pass to feet instead of attacking spaces and also If Cunha is playing as a striker let him focus on that and stop cramping up the areas Bruno operates from.

Thirdly Amad was starved of passes especially in the first half and instead the bulk of the attack got focused on that left flank with only Shaw serving as an outlet

Truth is we’d have lost this game under the previous manager. We seem to be going late into the game, never saw the game but just saw the highlights.

At the end what was Amad doing when he had that run into the box? Rather than an end product e,g, getting a shot away or squaring it to one of the 2 players who were free. He just ran as fast as he could in a straight line without really doing anything.

The lads played without any urgency from the start, they lacked energy throughout and made loads of silly mistakes with poor passes and decisions. When we lack urgency going forward we lack concentration at the back. However, given the two solid walls at the back and little effort to build attacks with numbers there are not many teams who would have relished playing that defensive set up last night.

Alfie – Yep, well said. Also Chelsea throwing away a 2 goal lead at home to Leeds is a much worse result. All a bit symptomatic of playing a game a couple of days earlier, they looked a bit shattered out there. Looking at the highlights i think we were a little bit unlucky too. We had over 65% possession away from home and more shots than them. Very harsh to call Casemiro offside for his goal – we’re just not getting any luck whatsoever with offside decisions at the moment, not an inch of leeway given to us the way it has been for other teams.
Zirkzee very unlucky not to score and Wan Bissaka with a brilliant clearance off the line from a certain goal from Luke Shaw. We can’t win every game of course so that finish from Sesko (which was brilliant by the way) could be massive in the race for CL places. At the very least an exciting end to the season.

As for Amad another disappointing night from him. I don’t think he’s done anything at all under Carrick and surely now Sesko comes in for him with Mbeumo switching to his best position on the right hand side. And a 2-week break for them now so i expect a lot more energy from the team against Everton!

I don’t think it was harsh to call Casemiro offside, didn’t need the VAR lines to see he was offside even if only marginally. You could see it when Casemiro scored, he wasn’t sure if he was on or off.
Sesko needs to start games like these, when you’re playing teams that sit deep you need a target up front who can win the ball and lay it off for his teammates or just get a vital touch to put the ball in the net.
I don’t think Carrick was schooled by Nuno, we were by far the better team but lacked urgency, that’s not down to the coach, that’s the players and I wouldn’t be surprised to see a few on the bench, namely Maguire and Dalot for the next match. However, I would definitely would question Maguire starting against a team that are going to try and hit us on the break, Yoro or Heaven need to be starting in these games. Maguire doesn’t have the pace.

Quite right Alfie, as I said, could have been an Amorim or Ten Hag team. No urgency or energy, but then it was pretty much like that against Fulham and Spurs. As someone says, Carrick just sets them up the same way every game, irrespective of the opposition or how they’re set up. Truth is, we never looked like scoring last night because Nuno set them up to stifle us and we were unable to change. Three shots on target, two by Sesko (only came on after 70 minutes) and one by Luke Shaw.

i would also like to reiterate if Cunha is starting as a left winger then he should be told to play as a left winger.. we need width and someone taking on players on that left hand side which will also help drag out opposition defenders. But when all our players are right infront of the opposition box playing tikitaka against a well packed defensive team it becomes futile.

And i have also said Amad doesn’t contribute enough assists or goals; yes i like how easily he can beat his marker and works hard but we need consistent goals/assists from all our attackers; for anyone saying they looked knackered it just means they are lazy bunch of cunts and it goes to show what to expect if we do qualify for d champions league they can’t handle 2games a week

Agree, Amad looks great but his end product is poor, he scores the odd worldy but overall he doesn’t seem to contribute much to the team.

In fairness to Carrick, he got the substitution of Yoro for Maguire spot on. Realising that us pushing on for a equaliser would leave us vulnerable to a counter attack.
However I agree with whomever said he can’t just keep putting out the same attacking line up and that Amad needs to improve his end product.

Next front three lineup needs to be Cunha, Sesko, Mbuemo. Amad could do with a day on the bench. Need a defender with pace as well, Moyes will look to hit us on the break like Nuno did. It’ll be another park the bus fest, these are the games we need to start winning though. As stated numerous times across numerous threads, we typically manage to get ‘up’ for the big games and win, then struggle in the normal ones.

Hopefully Sunderland beat the scousers tonight as they’re our biggest threat to the top 5 places. Can’t see Brighton getting anything from the Villa game and luckily we equalled Chelsea’s result yesterday.
Villa and Chelsea have home games next to Leeds and Burnley so its an easy 2 wins for them. Liverpool will be away at Forest after Sunderland tonight. So we’ll be in 5th place looking over our shoulders by the time we rock up to the Hill Dick-in-son Stadium on Monday week at 8pm!
