Not a bad result that, but still not liking the performances.
Good signs from Wirtz and he created a few good chances, if Isak had his head on correctly he’d have had a couple but hes struggling to get his game going, multiple times he should’ve got in front of the defender but he was lapse in his movement.
Gomez…survived 90 minutes shocker! But, with respect he did well. VVD and Konate looked like a pairing, which they haven’t done a lot of the season. Kerkez looked better as did Grav.
Ultimately, it was an ‘ok’ performance and by no means was this a great performance, it’ll do for now._____________________________

30th November 2025 at 8:16 pm #231902Problem is playing szobo were he did to accommodate others nullified his game
He was fine but his quietest game of the season
Someone should be sacrificed so szobo is in midfield and writz playing and thats macca
Hes just not at it and taking that extra touch and slow on the ball but he keeps playing.
Funny thing in two games were we have looked most solid frankfurt and today⦠mo has been on the bench

30th November 2025 at 9:40 pm #231905I think today was a step in the right direction. It felt a bit like some of last years games, not spectacular but in control.
Gravenberch and MacAllister in particular sat deep and chose their ventures forward more conservatively. This coupled with our fullbacks actually providing width gave Wirtz space to operate in. He was no longer falling over MacAllister’s feet!
Szoboszlai was less effective on the right that’s true, but as a team I think this is an OK compromise if improvements are made elsewhere, like having Wirtz have space as the teams main creator. Nothing is perfect, everything positive will have a negative somewhere, its trying to find the right balance.
Still worried about our fitness, especially Isak who actually looks ill, but that will hopefully improve as hopefully result improve. Better fitness will mean more intensity.

30th November 2025 at 9:56 pm #231906I think Salah is done now. He will be off to afcon soon and who knows maybe a bid from Saudi and he can be sold in Jan, but more likely in the Summer.
I really want Slot to be strong and resist bringing him back for the next game. The team looked much more balanced and we were not playing with β10 menβ no more.
If Salah is not doing the business upfront, why should Grav, or szobo do the job of 2 players when defending?
Just makes the new contract he got more and more silly. It only makes sense, in terms of getting a transfer fee for him, in 2026.

1st December 2025 at 5:43 am #231910Last season Salah didn’t defend but he usually had Diaz or a lesser extent Nunez do the running up front and add intensity. But he also produced one of the best individual season performances I’ve ever seen in a red shirt.
Thr team was set up to give Salah space and he thrived. This season he hasnt had that as Slot changed the way we play, plus of course we lost Trent.
Trent not only had a great partnership down the right with Salah but had the ability to ping it 60 meters to thr opposite flank or centrally meaning the opposition couldn’t just block defend around Salah.
So is it the end of Salah? Probably, although I don’t think it’s as simple as some say that he’s declined, more that our tactics are evolving without him.

1st December 2025 at 9:11 am #231911Id hate it to end mike this for me. Hes gone after leeds game for a while. I still he has a lot to offer but we look more solid without him in the team
One thing we have severely lost is our devastating pace on the counter. Mo, nunez and diaz even jota were lethal at that. Especially from opposition corners
Threeps, did you think kerkes stayrd more wide yday? Gomez was like a winger but kerkes didnt invert as much or what did you guys see?
What differences did you notice yday?
Its one game , we need to go on a run now

1st December 2025 at 9:20 am #231912Kerkez defo inverted yesterday although not as much and not as far up the pitch. It was more in the build up.
If we continue to build up as ponderously as we did yesterday we will be found out again.

1st December 2025 at 9:32 am #231916Kerkez started like a bombing forward wingback but then reverted to the more conservative mode. I didnt see him be as centerally as other games mind. Gomez surprised me by being the more advanced fullback, but as I said in game that may have been because WHU shifted to cover their right wing giving Gomez more space. Think Van Bissack only had Paquetta in front of him and he offers little help.
I like when one fullback attacks, the other shift across to a 3 man defence or hangs back. I still have bad memories of our first game when we connceeded with both full backs and the DMs in the oppositon penalty area. Worst LFC goal I think I have ever seen.
The best part of yesterdays game for me was the MacAllister and Grav double pivot actually working as a double pivot and not stampeading forward like crazed wilderbeasts at any oppotunity getting in the way of everyone.

1st December 2025 at 9:45 am #231917Salah is not finished. But he had to be dropped as he was offering nothing going forward with the tactics being used and was a defensive liability.
It was refreshing yesterday not seeing Salah and Gakpo pushed out on the corner flags losing possession, or back passing up the line.
Yesterday we looked more in control and calmer in possession. Wirtz and Gomez did well.
It’s not quite a corner turned but something to build on. Kerkez was improved, and if he, Isak and Wirtz can get into even a 6 out of 10 run of form then we will have good shout at top Four._____________________________

1st December 2025 at 10:13 am #231919Wirtz had that extra space to receive the ball yesterday without another midfielder or fullback near him.
Hopefully Slot sticks with 2 midfielders holding back a bit.
That doesnβt mean they canβt get forward at all, just the timing has to be right.
Weβll know more when we see the home game v Sunderland.

1st December 2025 at 10:17 am #231921Believe it or not but weβre only 4 points off 2nd.
However this is meaningless if we canβt put a run together.

1st December 2025 at 11:23 am #231927Lucky result, until the 2nd goal West Ham looked more likely to draw the game despite being a man down, they controlled most of the game and we were lucky to get 3 points.

1st December 2025 at 11:31 am #231928Just catching up from a long working weekend; Finally a win and happy, but of course, nothing to get too carried away over.
Slot I hope recognizes his changes and sticks to be able in making bold decisions.
There’s lots to improve on to get back to where we need to be. Not that we should be thinking about the League in the way that we did back in September, but I think the Gunners are capable of crumbling. 9 points is catchable and it only take a couple of bad results (as we know!!).
If we’re not beating Sunderland and Leeds back-to-back, then we may as well thrown in the towel as far as any League progression goes.

1st December 2025 at 1:42 pm #231934They had 7 shots albeit non on goal, possession was pretty even as well, with us getting the upper hand in the end, we were lucky they did not have a shot on goal as it was likely to go through. Thank God Alison is back, that’s all I can say beside it was not a domination, we scraped by and were lucky to have 2 goals.

1st December 2025 at 2:50 pm #231936I should be so lucky, lucky, lucky, lucky. Talking out your derriere.
More posession, more duels won, 9 shots for us, zero on target for them and Alisson didn’t have a save to make.

1st December 2025 at 3:30 pm #231939Seems GVB is getting the sack and a lot of the issues have been laid at his door.
Seems bizarre to me…._____________________________

1st December 2025 at 3:47 pm #231940Seen that too moonster. In fact saw it about 2 or 3 weeks ago but dismissed it. Whilst a no 2 can have a big role for a manager set up like Fergie (who rarely took the training sessions) or Klopp with Pep, Slot is a head coach and he should be the main man on the training pitch.
