Yeah Sean, just heard Arnie’s interview on 5 live. Honestly spoken and magnanimous towards Forest. He acknowledged their low block and our short falls.
Hope results go our way rest of the weekend and softens the blow. We are 2nd so maybe not all bad.

14th September 2024 at 5:49 pm #215579Ed, there is some work to be done and I feel in my view, we are 3 top class players short. If we had the original front 3 today of Mane and Firminho, we probably would have won comfortably this afternoon.
The players were not up to scratch today. We don’t particularly rev ourselves after the internationals.
Fortunate to currently be sat 2nd.

This is a competitive Premier League with Manchester City not surprisingly head and shoulders above the rest.

14th September 2024 at 6:00 pm #215582I’m not actually sure had Klopp still been here that we would have won our first 3 games but at the same time his infectious emotion wouldn’t have let us lose today. One for Slot to hopefully quickly learn from particularly after an international period and against a lower table side full of beans. We need galvanising in such situations.

14th September 2024 at 6:13 pm #215584Teams away from home seemingly a lot more tactically smart and set up well which can suit them.

14th September 2024 at 6:14 pm #215585Liverpools 1st 3 games were against sides who are quite open and not extremely defensive with their approach.
It is against sides like Forest which will test Slot. Where there will be 2 blocks and they will try to hit you on the counter.
Managers like Klopp and Pep found ways to get around these tactics.

14th September 2024 at 6:15 pm #215586I’m guessing Mikus, it was more to do with our transfer policy and a combination of managing transition, rebuild and pure and simply tiredness from our beloved Jurgen.
This Dutch Dude looks like he’s sussed the Team. I don’t think behind the scenes he will suffer any fools.

14th September 2024 at 6:24 pm #215587I think you’re right there CM. We struggle against teams placed firmly in their own area and magnetically draw you in; only then to exploit all the space left.
We could try and be a bit more patient; bit of Cat n Mouse.

14th September 2024 at 6:51 pm #215588That was there for the taking and Calvert-Lewin really made a dogs dinner out of that. Shoot-On-Sight!

14th September 2024 at 6:54 pm #215589He’ll rightfully get a roasting from Sean Dyche because almost guarantee, this is what the Premier League will do to you. 2-2.

14th September 2024 at 8:02 pm #215591Good win for us. Needed a bit of luck with the penalty save, as that could have changed the game. Looked in complete control after the first goal. Thought we were too open in the first half but will be looking forward to seeing more of Ugarte as the season goes on.

14th September 2024 at 8:04 pm #215592Not seen the incident at all, so making no comment but apparently Szoboszlai was lucky to escape a second yellow after booting the ball away after the ref calls for a free-kick.
Fernandes was booked for crossing the ball after being offside (I think) and despite no whistle being blown to stop play.

14th September 2024 at 8:25 pm #215593Thats it cm chum, saw many games today under klopp in his few years. Nobody should have got carried away after 3 wins, complete over reaction by liverpool media etc and no one should get carried away after a defeat.
There will be many ups and downs undet arnie this year. Hes new to the league. Its a hugeoverhaul for the whole set up. A load of patience is required.
Forest executed their plan perfectly, they did the exact same to us when they came up two years ago beating us1-0 at the city ground . They fully deserved the win today

15th September 2024 at 2:09 pm #215600I was thinking this Sean; Maddison and Kule’ in mid which is of course good for Spurs and Solanke looks like he’s made a difference, but they could themselves do with for example a Jorginho.
Maybe just Ange’s philosophy; attack.
