Mikus, thanks for the info, yes I did know, I have also read Trautmans book, this probably inspired the film, it should be a good story if the film makers do not make a hash of it. Yes , he did break his neck in that Final. I guess in City’s history we have had , mostly, good keepers. I do not like compareing players and I can only go on what I see as plusses and minus, For me Trautmann was more athletic, brave and a supberb keeper. Swift was more a showman BUT he had ability beyond most in his era and I have yet to see a keeper to match him, keeping in mind the heavy leather balls and ground conditions he played under. He was throwing the heavy ball out to Maurice Dunkerley on the centre line long before to days fashion and he was accurate. He also made you laugh at some of his antics, the crowd loved him
