2 goals… 2 question marks… (3 if you include last weeks “goal”)… are the Goonies the new Wimbeldon?

22nd September 2024 at 5:26 pm #215679Was that for the shoulder or for kicking the ball away?

22nd September 2024 at 5:31 pm #215681For kicking the ball away.
Ridiculous rule, there was like a second between Oliver blowing his whistle and Trossard kicking the ball. It is down to momentum and adrenaline.
No comment sense.

22nd September 2024 at 5:50 pm #215682Iβd have had more sympathy for him had he chased after the ball, but he knew the ref had blown so didnβt bother. Stupid from him.

22nd September 2024 at 5:54 pm #215683Hard to see Arsenal hanging on for the rest of the game now with 10 men. Full credit to them if they can.
Yeah thought Utd were very good yesterday and unlucky to only get a point. Martinez absolutely crazy for going in with that 2 footer. Was lucky he didn’t touch the Palace player.

22nd September 2024 at 5:55 pm #215684In a big game like that itβs a silly red and no one will convince me otherwise

22nd September 2024 at 5:55 pm #215685Pep kicking the chair was hilarious π. They need a bit more drama these rivalries. Always found the Pep-Klopp rivalry as dull as dishwater. Far too much hugs and high fives.

22nd September 2024 at 5:56 pm #215686I think he just wanted to clear it. If a CB made a clearance on the back of momentum after the ref blew the whistle for a foul, is that worthy of a booking?

22nd September 2024 at 6:30 pm #215689Footballers today play like robots. Every side plays the same. Try to pass it in to net. Nobody wants to shoot.
Footballers 20 years ago would have been licking their lips with those opportunities at the edge of the box.

22nd September 2024 at 6:50 pm #215692I do think that’s the kind of situation where a second yellow shouldn’t mean a red. There should be some punishment which isn’t a sending off, be it a sin bin or whatever. It’s completely ruined the game as a spectacle and just turned it into attack vs defence.

22nd September 2024 at 7:00 pm #215694The only person to blame for Trossard’s 2nd yellow is Trossard, end of debate… and considering how soft both the Goonie’s goals were anyway, I wouldn’t be complaing too much about the ref being unfair…
At the end of the day, they showed no ambition, would have been happy with a point before the game, and got what they deserved… didn’t see anything today which makes me think they’ll be challenging the 115 next May. Might be best of the rest… but that’s about it.

22nd September 2024 at 7:03 pm #215695Agree about trossard banjo but arsenal only had one option in 2nd half and it nearly worked. Ten men , arsenal take a point all day. I thought they were excellent but their time wasting actually hindered them in the end
Raya proving people wrong. He was brilliant todsy.

22nd September 2024 at 7:09 pm #215696Been chatting in our WhatsApp group whilst on 606. I knew this would happen: one caller attacking Michael Oliver and comparing him to Uriah Rennie. I just think that’s wrong.
The game was feisty and that’s understandable but an advert arguably as far as the product of the Premier League goes and definitely game of the week.
Time in addition to the pre-fixed time was justified fairly. But credit to both Teams in their own right.

22nd September 2024 at 7:12 pm #215697Sorry Waspy, we’ll agree to disagree on this one, they were playing 10 behind the ball from the get-go… going down to 9 just gave them a more legitimate excuse to do it… they got lucky with both the goals, and were playing it nice and tight and hoping for a “set-piece” from the first whistle.
