James could prove to be Man Utd’s most important signing this summer. He’s full of beans and has added a vital freshness to their attack and scored a fabulous goal last week, and has now scored again today. Will it be enough though for the team as a whole this season? A step in the right direction anyway.

James has been great so far for united, proving himself a great signing. I know there was a lot of doom and gloom after losing home to palace, but from what I have seen united are stronger despite losing herrera and their sub striker, I think bissaka, maguire and james have overall improved united. Might not be by a great deal but is noticeable to myself at least. I suppose the argument united fans would be within their rights to make is that the strengthening hasnt been to the level it should have been and I wont argue with that.

This should be an easy one now for Utd. Soton play OK but dont look like they can score. Utd will get another chance and that will be it.
To me De Gea still looks low on confidence. Could be another mistake maybe.

I know Walker is not the greatest but is playing well this season. Wan Bissaka better? I dont think so.

Dont think I have seen anyone argue bissaka is better than walker adlab, but I agree with you all the same. I think defensively bissaka is as good as anyone but great teams need more from a full back and walker is an exceptional offensive full back, one of the best in the world in his position imo. We have similar problem with azpi, as good as any full back defensively but offensively not that great.

Surprised how Utd faded in the game. They seemed to run out of steam in midfield with Rashford just dashing forward with limited purpose. I think all Utd fans know they need more creativity in midfield. They had the funds from Lukaku but oddly didnt buy?
If Soton had a decent striker they might have won the game.

another two goals for Abraham. our defence seems to have improved with the introduction of Tomori. kudos to Lamps for spotting that. still Barkley is not playing to his potential for me. he has been killing our attacks.

Barkley was vital in build up to first goal chelsea.man with the back heel, but over all I dont think he is playing that well either, I think mount struggling on left today too and when we have all our wingers fit mount will be central and barkley will be on bench.

Delighted for Tammy mate, goals, hold up play, movement, pressing, he looks the best option we have had since costa and we may finally have a no.9.

Vardy’s goal was class today, in behind , chips it on the volley over the keeper from outside the box, seen it before with him many times, class player Vardy.

Chelsea appointed a championship manager who can’t set a team up to defend. If you can’t beat relegation fodder then we are in trouble with them. Saw Tomori in the side and thought Sheffield would get something from the game. Not saying frank is the wrong man for the job, but his game management was aweful at derby and it’s continuing at Chelsea. Defensively we are all over the place and again, point at palace and Cahill – six points from two games one clean sheet.

Anyhow, That aguero chap is rather good isn’t he. Can salah inspire liverpool? It’s the salah and aguero show… enjoy it because they’re out of this world players.

It is a worrying result today 442 I agree mate.

We put ourselves in a great position half time and throw it away through naivety and I am sad to tend to agree with you, bad game management. On the players side and probably lampards side too.

Finally have a player that looks to be a decent no.9 and we are averaging 2 goals against each game, tammy scored 2 and was unlucky not to get hat trick forcing a very good reaction save, but we shouldnt need him to score 3 to win a game. Gutted with result today. Not as though we played 120 mins against pool 2 days ago is it.

Lucky… it’s a really green defence. I’m hoping rece James finds fitness and despite his night, Dave is moved into the middle.

I was pretty gutted in the manner Cahill left. Club captain and could have been a calming influence. Anyhow. We are where we are and this is going to be a difficult and frustrating season. Would Everton like zouma?

Positives so far are abraham starting to score, mount and Barkley. Ditch zonal…

If you have a natural born goalscorer in your side you have a chance in this division. Hence why liverpool and city are where they are. And they’re brilliant to watch.

And we have two finishers in our team. Abraham’s and bats… who should cut his loss and get out in January witha transfer to stick two fingers up to the club over his treatment. Bloody disgraceful. Tammy and bats up front would roll most pl defences…
