With relegation sorted and the title done and dusted, not a lot for a lot of teams to shout about, expecting a lot of “one-foot-on-the-beach” performances from here until seasons end…
Fulham & Brighton are one defeat from having their already slim CL hopes crushed, so those games against Villa and the Bone Saw-Boyz (who need the points to keep their much better hopes alive!) are probably the pick of the bunch.
“B-Teams” from YooUtd and Spuds, so probable 3 points for Brentford and Wet Spam…
Jammy-Todgers are more in need of 3 points than the possibly hung-over Champions, so probably a draw…which leaves Forest agianst the Eagles, really needing a win to get back on track after their recent run…
Goonies vs Cherries.. irrelevant
Foxy Ladies vs Saints… irrelevant
Toffees vs Tractors… irrelevnat_____________________________

2nd May 2025 at 9:21 am #219118I cant believe how poor spurs have been banjo, they look like they can be carved open at will.
Id like to see ang win europa but ad baf as utd are, they would beat spurs.
Utd have just been so poor under anirom. They have got worse but europa keague be huge as it brings cl football and money.
If utd finish 15th and dont win europa should amiron go or has he a free hit this season? Its absolutely mad to think were spurs and utd are
Ang will go, they will being in iarola and he will fail there. Just something rotten embedded in the culture of the club.

2nd May 2025 at 9:43 am #219119Don’t hold back, cyber chum, although I would point out we’ve beaten YooUtd 3 from 3 this season already… so we’re bound to lose the one which really counts! 🙁
But you’re not wrong, started very average (and I’m being polite!), decimated with injuries for the middle half of the season (and watched Angie play with suicidel tendencies!), and then watched him swap 5-6-7 players every game with one-eye on Thursdays when they started coming back…
Interesting about Amiron, no “new-manager” bounce, and still seems to have the fans on his side with the “doesn’t have the players he wants” excuse… which I think gives him a free hit… if he isn’t top half of the table come Christmas (or maybe even sooner as depending if he doesn’t have any mid-week distractions) and I think the knife’s will be out!
As for Angie, reckon he’s a goner regardless what happens. Not sure if Irola will come (certainly not if Cherries are in Europe and Spuds are not!)… not convinced about Silva or Frank either…
Guess it all depends if we need passports or not before a manager can be picked.

2nd May 2025 at 10:47 am #219123Good Morning Chucks, I beg to differ re your title! 🙂
I don’t think even 2nd place is settled! We could view the last 4 matches as a mini-tournament. There’s a chunk of places on that table that looks lively and things can still change. I think Pep’s wary of the importance for example of tonight’s game versus Wolves at the Ethiad.
Plenty to play for still 🙂

2nd May 2025 at 10:52 am #219124Sean, re your post on the other thread, you’re right mate, Liverpool have been the most consistent and possibly on another level. I hope we reach 90 points. People are making sounds of “what’s the point risking Salah now that the league’s done and won”, which I get, but to just stroll for the remaining matches would be unprofessional and a disservice to the other teams and the Premier League.
The exception I would see is an example of Liverpool v Southampton if that was on the fixture list of those matches as it’s dead-rubber. But fans obviously have paid good money, so they in turn deserved better.
I’d still like us to win than drop points and finish on 90+ points.

2nd May 2025 at 10:58 am #219126That’s the thing, Nil, Goonies could finish 6th, highly unlikely even if would be the collapse of the century, so really it’s between Bone Saw, 115, Jammy Dodgers (currently in the CL spots), with only Forest and Villa have a realistic chance of changing that… mathmatically Fulham, Brighton, Bournemouth and Brentford have a “chance” but looking at the form guide, I wouldn’t be wasting my Monster Munch on it…

2nd May 2025 at 1:14 pm #219127Yeah Chucks agree and this looks pertinent for Teams occupying those place not to get complacent but perhaps view this as a ‘final furlong’ of a Race. Pep mentioned the importance of tonight’s game.
Against the comparison of previous recent seasons, this one appears different plus to factor in the extra CL place awarded.
Nobody has any time to drop off as not only there are certain places up for grabs, but the revenue differentiation between places from what is gained.
Slot has confirmed in his press conference earlier about rotating, but not a complete change in his selection 11. He is absolute in enthusing the attitude to try and win all 4.
