I see the Dancing Queen at YooUtd is up to his usual tricks again…

As Waspy says, getting a little easier to watch, more like we’re getting used to it, but still nothing close to normal. Of course, helps if you team isn’t playing like a bunch of drunk three legged donkeys with constipation or have a manager who is so old fashioned and past his sell by date he makes Sweeny Todd’s meat pies look tasty.

Just want this season over with.

Oh, congrats Buffy (as I won’t be here Sunday). If you don’t bet this shower of shite we currently have, your team will officially be the worst Goonie team for the last 60 years.

To be fair it’s not far off the worst team for a good long while! But we should have enough
It’s going to be a case of crap defence v crap attack and better attack v better defending!
We could and should but likely aside Harry will suddenly find form again!!

The only thing I can say in our defence, Cherries were doing it, Wet Spam were doing it, teams that just sit really, really deep, two very compact rows of 4 and strikers 10 yards in their own half, know we haven’t a clue and pass it around going nowhere until somebody just gets bored and lobs in the box… we’re so easy to set up agasint…

Dounbt the Goonies will do that though… my honest opinion would be a high scoring game with your lot finishing on top… if I were a gambling man, I’d be putting my Monster Munch on a Goonie victory and 6 plus goals…

I think whilst the players maintained their fitness over the lockdown they clearly lost some of the match sharpness. You often hear Klopp mention rhythm and the early games clearly lacked that for most. The quality is getting better.

Utd look good. I am sure they will improve a lot next season but will they challenge for the title? 90+ points is the standard at the moment so that is a heck of a catch up Utd need to do, but with a couple of additions I would have them as strong top 4 candidates. I’m still not convinced by Ole although he seems to have stumbled on a system that suits his players.

Oh and it was never a pen for Utd, should of been a freekick the other way.

Liverpool went from top 4 challengers and CL qualifiers to CL and PL Champions with the signing of three key players if United get their signings right and buy players of stature I think they could be challenging for the title again sooner rather than later.

I think it’s going to get more competitive at the top of the PL from next season although ultimately at least for next season I think it will again be a race between Liverpool and City.

I wonder if Harry Kante’s reputation played a part in Spurs not being awarded a penalty.

surely reputation means nothing when VAR is used? the replays clearly showed he was fouled. just like the replays clearly showed Fernandes wasn’t fouled. if they are ignoring the video evidence and basing it on past misdemeanours then that is cheating. its sheer incompetence causing the issues.

Nine it’s a little more complicated then Liverpool buying 3 key players. They had a plan in place, a way to play and what players they need to fit those plans as best they could. They needed pretty much the perfect players for the system and they got them. This is where I am still not convinced by Ole, I still don’t really know what style of play he plays (admit not watched them much so please Utd fans enlighten me). They succeeded with Fernandes, but not with Maguire, Van Bissaka or Dan James. (I bet mentioning Maguire and Van Bissaka get Ed to respond!!).

Wan Bissaka has done really well. Getting much better going forward and is an excellent at defending

Not convinced by maguire at all.

Utd are playing a settled team now. 4-2-3-1 and it’s working really well for them.

Martial looks hungrier now. The young lad Greenwood is very very good and will only get better

i also think having a settled team helps. same starting XI for four consecutive games.

                          Definite penalty for Spurs.
Good player Fernandes. Sadly, and he doesnt need to, but he is a cheat. He has done this a few times. Needs to be said.
How did VAR not give the Spurs pen but gave one to Utd? Shambles or worse.

I can understand Jon (Moss, referee) getting it wrong but I don’t know what VAR are looking at – it’s a disgraceful decision. They have a screen they can go and look at it but they don’t seem to be bothered.”

It was “sheer incompetence” and had the Referee awarded the penalty to Spurs I don’t think VAR would have overruled it.

Spurs was a penalty but United’s wasn’t imo shame for Villa because up to that point they played very well and could easily have been ahead.

threeps, I agree that the Klopp effect played a significant part in Liverpool’s success but it took Klopp a while to realise his defence was just too leaky and he signed Alisson, VVD and Fabinho to fix that and the rest is history.

It’s all about buying the right players if United make two of three key strategic signings and add them to the current team it could be a game changer look at the effect of just one in Fernandes on the United team.

Personally I think the PL is shaping up for a very interesting few seasons with in the medium term maybe 3 or 4 teams challenging for the title.

That was the most inept 90+minutes of football from Spurs since the 1990’s , how can a team with Kane, Son, Lucas, Lo Celso, Ndombele , Gedson and Bergwijn not have one shot on target .
No movement, no desire, no energy and no will to win with the same players making the same old mistakes.
To compete Spurs need a back 4 , DMF, a playmaker and a back up for Harry, that’s if he stays .
I wonder whether My Levy is having second thoughts about Jose, I can see big trouble brewing in the next transfer window as JM ain’t getting the players he badly needs. If there are no new players coming in I can see a mid table finish if we’re lucky and a new manager.
I wonder whether Daniel Levy is feeling as shitty this morning as I am ??after all this is all down to him not balancing investment in the team with paying for a new ground.

as many feared the game is becoming American, if the drink breaks stay we will be playing “quarters” with ad breaks in between for extra teeeeveee revenue and more chance to sell over priced beer and pies when people are allowed back in the stadiums……

I think the drinks break will go next season it was bought in to circumvent playing through the Summer after the restart in potentially hot weather.???

Given that the season probably won’t start until Sept 12th I can’t see it being necessary or continuing.

The 5 substitutes is another story and I expect that to go to a vote of the PL Clubs with the Club’s split on whether it should carry on or not past this season.
