Chucky, I haven’t claimed it was a penalty. I haven’t even seen the incident so I can’t possibly give a view but before you had seen the incident you were throwing around cheating Chelsea scum bags.

Pat Nevin gave a completely unbiased view as to whether the contact was in it out of the area and in his opinion though very close was it wasn’t in the area. Yet you’re accusing him of bias because he’s an ex Chelsea player.

I don’t condone diving which is why I want to see retrospective bans and why I would be delighted if Azpilucueta dived that he received a retrospective ban.

9, it’s one of my pet ideas for football, one of my others is the choice of punishment for a red card should be decided by the opposition, sent off or a penalty. Take the Derby County cup match last week, Derby 1 up with two minutes to go, the Derby Defender pulled down their forward just outside the area, got himself a red card but Derby won the match, Blatant professional foul rewarded with a place in the next round.
Would be very interstellar what decision a team made as you’re not guaranteed to score the penalty….Pagan

Well, having seen the incident on MOTD, yes there was contact, and yes it was outside the box, however, if you were to go to ground with that amount of contact in real life, there would be chaos at bus stops, carnage on the tube and the January sales would be a blood bath.
But Football isn’t real life, and players going down with minimal contact is now the norm, is it right, no. Maybe there’s an operation where we could fit footballer with gyroscopes….Pagan

Oz, not sure what to make of the upcoming Ashes Series I went to last one in Cardiff and really enjoyed it as I always do but both sides are struggling for form currently.

I’m sure it will be a good Series though it’s always special imo. Cheers 999
