I watched all 4 Festive fixtures Paxo and for me the issue with the Wolves game wasn’t either a question of bottle, or even injuries/fatigue, it was simply the boys playing Billy Bigboots. Like yesterday, we could have been 3/4 up inside half an hour against Wolves, finally did score the goal and then spent the next 50 mintutes or so playing like the end half yesterday against Cardiff, i.e. training day. Then Wolves went up a gear or two and we simply couldn’t handle it, playing too cocky. We deserved what we got against Wolves, and hopefully, it was a proper slap across the chops for the squad.

Mak@11:26pm I understand how you feel mate and unfortunately there’s no relaxation until it done and you’ve got it won.

But comfort yourself in the fact that even should you lose at City and I’m not sure you will you will still be 4 points ahead of City and everyone connected with Liverpool would have been really happy with that with 17 games to go before the season started.

Of course anything can happen in football but after City I can’t see too many teams capable of beating Liverpool over the remaining 17 games. I’m looking forward to the game on Thursday it should be a belter. Cheers 999

Saw spurs on sat and they lost because wolves were the better side 2nd half. Spurs shoukd have been a few up but wolves came back into it much better 2nd half.

Spurs are missing some really important players. Are they are doing very well. Would love to see them win the caroling cup. Really like Poch

Used to really like Kane always just got on with it but now he’s always moaning at refs, diving around the place and just seems more greedy to me. Totally gone off him I have to say. Brilliant player but just

Not defending Sir Harry’s actions, no worse than dozens of other players in the Prem, but bloody hell does he need a break… I think he’s just about the only Spud/WC player who hasn’t had a little “hammy” for a few weeks. Expecting it to happen any day now, probably 12 hrs after Llllrrrnnttotote goes…

Nine, don’t forget that we’ve a resurgent Man Utd to play (at Old Trafford). We’ve also got Everton away, Spurs and you lads both at Anfield.

Also, a blip is a blip and you can drop points against anyone. With City in mind, You wouldn’t have looked at the fixture list and stopped at Crystal Palace or Leicester and thought “ooofff tough ones there” but they lost both.

This unleashed Utd will be a serious problem. I regret wanting Jose fired now I’ll tell you.

Ya I also saw some of the Spurs V Wolves game. Look, bottling it was maybe the incorrect term but they had no intensity. It’s a problem that I’v seen only too often with Liverpool. Up for the big games but lacking that drive for points against “weaker” opposition. Now, I have to kinda stop myself again because Wolves are alright. They are a side in need of time but they are reasonably capable, however they aren’t a big fixture. Spurs were a goal to the good and they just dropped off. Wolves started coming at them more and that’s when you want to see a response but there wasn’t one.

I actually marked the Wolves game against Liverpool as a test to see if we were the real deal. I said it before the game, that it was one that we would lose in the past. We played them on the back of some really tough fixtures and the pattern was that we’d be motivated for the big games, get the result and then be flat against average opposition. We weren’t this time but Spurs were.

I won’t write them off completely, 1-2 weekends and they could be right back in it. All eyes on City though for now. I think we saw a response from them in the last game. They might have been fortunate with one of their goals but you make your own luck.

sean – wont disagree with you about kane arguing and falling over, but i will hugely disagree with you about him being selfish. he is one of the least selfish strikers around. he is more than happy to sacrifice his goal scoring potential for the good of the team. he is so highly thought of because of the way he links up play, drops deep, sprays passes around, tracks back. you watch a striker like aubameyang and you see a great finisher but if he isnt shooting, hes doing nothing – all he cares about is him scoring. same with many strikers. kane does not fit in to that category. if he has the option to shoot or pass the chances are he’ll shoot and thats because he is one of the best in the world at it and he knows that. spurs fans would rather he shot because he scores a lot of the time. i will say (and it will come across as a tribal response) if you dont like kane because he argues with refs then you surely cant have any respect for any liverpool players or klopp. in my opinion, they are the worst for it, at least they used to be.

Spot on Mak, I’ve said it many times but I truly still expect c$ty to win it again this season for all the reasons you said mate. I can’t see anything but a c$ty win tomorrow & 4 points is nothing after that. They are getting players back now & will definitely go on a winning streak. We scraped Everton at Anfield & expect a similar tight one next time. As you said manu away now they are finally playing with a bit of freedom is more than difficult.
Thing is we haven’t had a blip yet & when it happens how will we react. Will we panic & play within ourselves or will we tough it out & still pick up wins. I’m certain we won’t go through undefeated I just hope we show some strength when the time comes & we lose one. I think we will find out after tomorrow what we are made of, I’m more than confident c$ty will beat us.

Are you serious, most of us were getting sick of Henderson being to polite in games & not questioning dodgy decisions.

Must be terrible constantly predicting doom for Liverpool this season and being wrong every time?

Very glad I can actually look forward to games to be honest.

Southampton shoukd have had a pen at 1-1 but city steam rolled them

Once cities midfield 3 is kdb ferdhino and d Silva they will be very hard to beat

Bernardo Silva has been excellent this season though

Salah went down way too easy for me & those that make excuses for players doing it are part of the reason it continues to happen. Players that dive are embarrassing & destroying the game & these excuses like ” any contact is a penalty” or “he held his shirt so it’s a foul” are kidding themselves. Yes it might be a foul going off the rules but the theatrics are a disgrace to the game, throwing your head back like you’ve been shot & laying on the ground wriggling around like you’ve got a compound fracture or the like because someone lightly bumped you is just ridiculous. As I said before I’d hate to see them in a big crowd of people, they wouldn’t get far hitting the deck all the time.

I just never noticed Kane arguing as much as he does these days Paxton that’s why I liked him. He just got on with it. Now he’s jumping around and moaning all the time.

Don’t like the chap. My opinion has changed. Think he’s top top class and your actualky right about his general play. He’s world class , just don’t like him
    Anymore.

Yeah threeps I actually can’t wait to see Liverpool lose a game, I’ll go running around saying how happy I am. I only say stuff hoping I can say I’m right, not because we have continually messed up when in a good position or final in recent seasons or the fact c$ty have been without 4 or 5 of their best players for a while & are still close by. I actually can’t stand watching us play, I don’t enjoy the games at all or look forward to them, especially last year when we were scoring heaps of goals. Your so smart Threeps, you got me all figured out.

Threeps, what do you want people to say mate? We will win the league? We haven’t won it for nearly 30 years. We have fucked it up royally a few times over the last few decades so it’s no wonder people are very guarded about going over the top

You had idiots wearing 19 times t shirts with 5 games left in 2014.

I think were cursed. Something always happens

    Gerrard slip
Salah injury and Karius cl final
One nil up in Europa final totally in charge and we throw it away
    Lost our last 4 finals
    Klopp his last 6.

No wonder many of us are sceptical

I’m certainly enjoying the season but what does now count for? Being top? Absolutely nothing and we have won nothing and until we show we have the balks to go over the finish line , many of us will always have our doubts
