I think I can answer your question as to why Klopp has kept him here for so long. It’s because out of the players he started with at the club, he had more utility than most of the others who he let go. This has value when you’re assembling a side and look, Hendo is not a bad player by any stretch of the imagination. He’s just not good enough when you’re looking to move forward. I will say that the second half of last season was an exception because he had found his old role again and was offering a lot more.

I have yet to see that this season, so if people think I’m quickly judging, I have years before this with which to wonder if he’s reverting in some way.

Style it how you might like lads, Hendo improves or he gets replaced. If we want to talk about why we’re not doing as well as we were but Hendo is off-limits , then you’re in the wrong place.

Interesting clip here and Im still watching it, so no comment just yet but tell me this… aren’t sky trying to build Roy into the Utd job? They definitely are. Every since that rebuttal to Carra a short while ago.. ppfff

    You can do anything gradually.

I have to say that, i’m happy for the win last night. how much we needed that? now we go against Ajax with a good motivation. then again the issue of set-piece has been our undoing. but thankfully we managed to pull another rabbit out of the hat. but our defensive problem has now been narrowed down to set-pieces. that is a good step in the right direction. also i have been impressed with Zouma last night. especially his performance in the second half had been encouraging. he has been winning all of his aerial duels in the second half. his confidence is coming back little by little. and may be that injury has made him lose a yard of his pace. plus he has Tomori who is also an excellent defender next to him.

I was happy for Willian who had been getting the stick from some Chelsea fans. he seems to be spending more time in the box now. and that is one influence that Frank is having on him. and he has now scored back to back goals, and huge ones. if Frank can continue to get the best out of him and CHO who has now two assists and a goal in 3 games since his return. then we could be into something. the young lad James has also been impressive, although he was nervous at a times, but with time and more games, he will be a natural successor to Azpi for sure.
Alonso seems to have worked on his defensive deficiency, but still he lack pace, but he is a vital cog in the Lampard set up. and the fact that he now has Tomori who is vigilant enough and not Luiz is a plus for him. his attacking runs are very important.

And finally, i have seen the old Kepa now,he is also hitting form at the right time. he has saved us many times. and a little bit of fun, Courtois got sick when he conceded his 57th and 58 goals in 43 appearances for Real Madrid? it’s now official all of the established players who have left us are all struggling. Courtois, Matic, Luiz, Hazard, Mata makes you wonder is Marina this genius or is it a coincidence?

Mak, If Sky were really trying to build up Roy Keane for the United job they are wasting their time there’s more chance of Rafa being offered it.

    Which actually wouldn’t be a bad idea.😊

Very interesting comments from Liverpool lads. Generally I agree. Liverpool, like City will beat most teams. Like last season much will be determined by head to head results and injuries.
At the moment we have key players out fof long periods. However we are muddling through. Liverpool have not had Allison for a few weeks and not suffered.
Liverpool have not as yet had any other key injuries..Mane, Salah, VVD for example all at the same time. There is such a long way to go as yet. Both teams will be there at the end.

On another (more biased) matter, Im hoping they give OGS more time, Sorry Ed! I think the job is too big for his skills.

Its official,S.Mane is either not a human being or he is on fecking batteries! Does he ever get tired? The best player in the world for the last year or so,but we now know why Messi won it.I thought with SB and MP gone, there wont be anymore votes being stolen.

One more thing, that Haland boy is a very talented player, strange no EPL team has been in for him.

    ps:any relations to Alf-Inge Haland???

CM-TC has been a disaster since his move to RM,howeever, give EH7 some time, matey. He has been injured for most of the summer and just moved to the biggest sporting institution on earth, where expectations are crazy.Im sure EH7 will come good,he still has got 3-4 years @ the top left on him.

Tammy Abrahams first goal inn Europe… Massive for him and club. Massive…

So, if Lampard gets it right, he has a crop of players who have beaten every type of side through the age divisions to senior team, most of that side are together and getting minutes inn the pitch.

The introduction of Loftus cheek will be game changing alongside CHO who really needs to show fans he cares about the club. What this does mean is that the older “bought in generation” bar Willian, need be be moved on ASAP as they’ll never be compatible with the young team. Which means a lot of things for CFC transfer business, but the club has saved itself the best part of 200 million by appointing Lampard for this season and, next, should he survive the loss of form owners mood swings.

As for Hazard Maverick. He’ll come good but he’ll never be a galactico as its not in his temperament and that’s been true throughout his Chelsea career too. Switches on the talent when he wants, last year was his most consistent in terms of producing goals and assists over the course of a season. On his day, better than Ronaldo and Messi or on a par… they just produce 365 days a year of total football sunshine hazard does it for 165 days a year and works on market stalls during the winter months.

Adlab even with injuries your winning 8-0, it’s your depth that will win it again for you. Too much quality in the squad for anyone to compete with. Your on the money with our injuries, we lose one of the top 3 or worse 2 of them & we are screwed. Your midfield has a lot more variety & quality than ours as well & whilst your D could be better your too potent up top for it to be enough to stop another EPL title. As I said recently It’s a pretty predictable scenario, I’m not just saying it to be negative.

Unless they are club legends like Drogba, Lampard, Zola, Terry fans don’t really like older players and they prefer them to move onthat’s why older Chelsea players like Willian, Pedro to name 2 divide opinions widely across the fan base, I actually think they been well treated by management past and present you don’t see young players getting as many playing opportunities to prove themselves as they have had.

    Good points well made Blaze.

Personally I still think currently there’s room for a bit of experience in such a young side but medium term I can’t see either Willian or Pedro for being around too much longer.

I thought Willian had a good game last night and Frank seems happy with him, Willian’s future will have to be sorted out one way or another shortly as he can sign a pre contract agreement with another European Club in January.

Another good cameo from Hudson Odoi and it can’t be too long before he’s starting games.

Tomori and Abraham selected for the England squad alongside Barkley and Mount.
