Blueisbest & Ed: I am still not convinced of what you called the stockpiling transfer strategy. We already sold Felix at a loss. What I read, we would sell KDH at a loss too. He is in the squad, no rush whatsoever to sell him now. But we are selling him for 25m pound. If I could guess, despite the CWC prize winning and all the outgoing transfers: we still desperate of cash to finance the next incoming (Xavi Simons?).
Ugochukwu & Broja, they are not in the squad. So if the rumours are true that Burnley agreed to buy: I think it’s a really good business for Chelsea. And I hope that the loan move to Sunderland for Guiu is still on too. He looked decent when given opportunities, he needs to gain experience in Premier League.
Ed: I don’t think GK is on the menu. We will stick with Sanchez, 100% sure I think. Jackson seems to be staying too IMO; he said so in an interview several days ago. And both Newcastle & Man Utd are aiming for Sesko now, not Jackson

4th August 2025 at 6:15 pm #223039Ed, they said they not going for another keeper right now so thats settled. Sanchez will be no. 1 keeper. Prefer Garnacho to Jackson the little I seen of him. So we still need to sell Jackson, Sterling, Disasi, Chillwill. Another one would like to see go is Badashile but I heard his staying for now. Fofano if he can get over his injuries will stay also for now. Pity about Dewsbury Hall as he was a great squad player but at Everton he will probably be a regular starter. George and Gilchrist have also said they plan to leave as their pathway is blocked by all these expensive signings. Pity as I rated both of them. I dont also see a future for our young academy players the way we going.

4th August 2025 at 7:47 pm #223049For me, Sterling, Disasi & Chilwell are the priority to offload due to their salary. We already sold Felix who had a significant salary. But others like Datro Fofana, Gilchrist, Kellyman, Veiga etc, they are young players. I doubt that their salary is that significant.
Would be sad to see Tyrique George leave. With a lot of matches: UCL, domestic cups, I am pretty sure that George will get opportunities. We only have Neto as an established pure winger. Gittens and moreover Estevao (who comes straight from Brazil, doesn’t speak the language and 18 years old only) will need time to adjust. If trusted during the opening fixtures, George may be able to seize the opportunity. I think he should stay. Unless we acquire Garnacho, that’s another story.
Jackson like KDH, there should be no rush to sell him. He can leave for a decent profit but otherwise should stay. Nkunku, with so many suitors, nothing materialized?

4th August 2025 at 10:38 pm #223061Nkunku also needs to go especially now that the Garnacho deal is almost done

5th August 2025 at 2:52 pm #223098Rumours say that we could obtain Garnacho for half of the price, 30m pound. Still, I don’t think we need him; I would better keep Tyrique George in case he still can change his mind. But the price is really enticing, and apart his finishing, from a few Man Utd matches I watched last season: Garnacho was always dangerous, he created chances. So for 30m pound, kinda low risk, I am kinda impartial. We can get him or we can decide not to get him.
Xavi Simons on the other hand, for that expensive price, why. We’ve been duped twice by RB Leipzig: Werner & Nkunku. And he plays in the same position as Cole Palmer. It looks to me that he is way closer to join Chelsea than Garnacho though.
I want Nkunku gone, but he played quite well during the CWC when given opportunities and if Maresca wants to retain him, I kinda understand too. We’ll face defensive oppositions in the Premier League (like most of our CWC opponents except PSG). Nkunku can help to unlock the defense from the bench. He is good in tight spaces. I can’t see him being in the starting 11 though

5th August 2025 at 4:39 pm #223104Aindro – it would be a shame to see George go; he’s done alright when given a chance without setting the world alight, but we could say the same about De Bruyne and Salah. However, with the various PSR/Uefa finance rules, selling him provides a substantially over-weighted credit to both metrics. The Uefa rules are particular dumb and basically encourage the farming of youth to be sold off at the right moment – how that makes football sustainable or tasteful is another matter.
Rover – agree, Nkunku needs to get moved on. It’s a shame we overpaid for him. We’re almost in the same boat with him as we are with Sterling/Chilwell except wages aren’t the issue, the original amount we paid for him was too high.
Garnacho for me is a younger version of Sancho, with the same sort of potential but coming (hopefully) with a much lower wage, so he’s worth a punt. I liked Sancho, and he scored some quality goals for us, but he would never fit the wage structure and setup so had to go. We mugged United with the 5m escape fee as that would be a normal fee for a loan anyway and they can’t seem to find a solution now.
Xavi Simons – agree with the comments above. Not sure what he adds, but then again I was sceptical about Joao Pedro and he scored some quality goals straight off the bat.
I take the point that others have made that Sanchez will be our keeper… with some regret. I also agree that we should move Disasi on.
Jackson can go as well… but then we do need a replacement, as Guiu has gone out on loan and if we lose Delap to an injury then we’re in trouble.

5th August 2025 at 7:54 pm #223108Ed, totally agree. I just hope that Tyrique George will be patient and wait for his chance. He is good, he can score. I think he envies other players of his age like Jobe Bellingham and before him Jude Bellingham getting into starting 11 in Bundesliga. Even last season Chukwuemeka and also Gittens. IMO he should wait for another year. If this season he doesn’t get a lot of minutes, next season he should move on to Bundesliga or to another club.
I don’t think we overpaid Nkunku. Like Werner, he was a star at Leipzig. It’s a shame that he has been injured so long at Chelsea. I won’t be surprised if he surprises us this season given injury free so far. The difference between him and Werner is that Werner relies completely on his speed and finishing. And we could see that both did not work out in the Premiership. Not with us, nor with Spurs. Nkunku has some serious technique and looks comfortable in small spaces.
Whether we will be able to offload Sterling, Disasi, Chilwell or not, I think our out-going transfers have so far been a success. We were able to sell Kepa, Petrovic & Felix, and it seems now that we would soon sell Broja & Ugochukwu who have no part in the squad. And we seem to insert a clause of minimum peformance for Guiu, which would guarantee his minutes in the Premier League with Sunderland

12th August 2025 at 6:51 am #223572If we do go for another centre half in view of Collwills injury and the rest not too highly rated by all and sundry than we should try for Braithwaite, I am not a fan of GuΓ©hi plus I dont believe in bringing back previous players at a much higher cost than what we sold for. That’s my opinion, it makes no sense to bring back players we had and at a huge loss relatively to what they were sold for.

12th August 2025 at 10:00 am #223591They seem to be going ahead with Garnacho from what I’ve read. However, Maresca has said a new centre back is a priority for him so it will be interesting to see who will crop up in the rumour mill. Branthwaite will be expensive because he’s English and recently signed a new 5 year contract.

12th August 2025 at 4:12 pm #223627Rover: totally agree with you, Branthwaite would have been an ideal CB for us. English, young. The problem is as Ed mentionned: the price. I don’t think Chelsea want to pay a lot. GuΓ©hi on the other hand has only 1 year remaining in his contract and he could be available for a cheaper price. Hence I’d suggested GuΓ©hi for Colwill’s replacement.
Ed from what I read, Garnacho seems to want to force a transfer to Chelsea. I don’t want us to pay 50m pound as Man Utd demand. Gittens isn’t bad, we have Neto and Estevao too. And of course Tyrique George if he isn’t leaving. We are well covered. Xavi Simons, I think the link is dead. He rejoined the squad with RB Leipzig. I don’t think either that the link with Donnarumma is legit. His salary is way to expensive.
So for me, it’s not who will be in that’s interesting, except the CB part of course. But who will be out. Jackson & Nkunku weren’t in the squad for the last weekend matches. But no news so far. My feeling is that we won’t be able to offload Nkunku. But we will be able for Jackson. Newcastle are desperate for a striker if Isak leaves. Even if he stays, who can guarantee he will fully commit after what is happening presently. Others like Sterling, Disasi, Chilwell, honestly … yawn … Nothing concrete. I think they will stay.

15th August 2025 at 6:43 pm #223889Premier League is about to start. Nothing concrete on the transfer front. I really think that Chelsea are waiting to materialize some transfer-outs first before any transfer-ins. Rumours say that Bayern and Chelsea are in an active talk regarding Nkunku. And Datro Fofana seems to have some suitors (Wolves?). I can see the sense in that as they lost Kingsley Coman. But other players like Sterling, Chilwell, no news.
About the transfer-ins once Nkunku will be sold and we will get some money: I would like the club to prioritize a signing of a central defender. We’re a bit thin there as Colwill will probably be out for the season. We know Fofana’s injury record. Anybody knows whether Hato played CB or LB at Ajax???
Rumours say we are linked to Hincapie of Leverkusen. But I doubt about that as Leverkusen have already lost so many players. They are in no need to sell as they’d received money from Wirtz, Frimpong, Xhaka etc.

16th August 2025 at 10:42 am #224007Looks like selling Petrovic wasn’t such a bad idea after all, ok he made a couple of good saves but in all he had a horror game. He could have possibly saved 3 of the goals.

16th August 2025 at 11:02 am #224011Problem is the squad has a lot of excellent players interspersed with below average players as far as EPL standards are concerned. And other clubs are not going to go for them at the prices the club values them. I would sell them at whatever we can,you at least get some money, get rid of their wages plus we already made unexpected money from recent successes. The club can’t carry on keeping unwanted deadwood. Saying that those players are still more than capable of performing at different clubs depending of course where they end up.

18th August 2025 at 8:53 pm #224315Blaze: I don’t think Petrovic was at fault for Liverpool’s goals. Their defense was weak.
Blueisbest: when Bayern are knocking our door for Nkunku, a player that we could still use, I think we’d better stick to our price. They have money. Same reasoning for Jackson. But for players like Sterling, Disasi, Chilwell, Datro Fofana who aren’t even in the squad, I share your opinion. Just sell them for whatever price. No news on the transfer front. We may be stuck with the current squad.

19th August 2025 at 5:01 pm #224345Aindro those players aren’t even in the squad including Jackson. I dont know what they doing when they have no team to play for but for them it’s also about money, they not willing to lower their wages so they just hang around. The club whoever it was at that time period only has itself to blame. Going to be a problem getting rid of the deadwood.

19th August 2025 at 9:36 pm #224350I think Nkunku & Jackson would be reintegrated to the squad once the window will be closed if they cannot find any buyer.
Like Man Utd are holding the price for Garnacho, we are doing the same for Nkunku.
Sterling Disasi Chilwell are another matter though. They wonβt be reintegrated to the squad

21st August 2025 at 1:10 pm #224448Looks like Veiga is off to Villareal for more than twice the fee we paid for him.
Dortmund want Carney, and the club are insisting on a permanent deal as Dortmund also want Anselmino on loan (good destination for Anselmino to go and develop too). Good business.
Whilst not knowing for sure as some fees are undisclosed, I’m pretty much certain that we’re close to breaking even.
United will budge on Garnacho as they need the money. The signing of Xavi Simons I think will depend on selling Jackson and Nkunku. Whilst I’m surprised that we haven’t had much interest in Disasi, it’s less surprising that we’re stuck with Sterling and Chilwell, both of whom will either get loaned out with us paying a large chunk of their wages, or will just do a Bogarde.
Curiously, it seems we’ve signed Enciso from Brighton and loaned him to Strasbourg. That came out of nowhere…

21st August 2025 at 2:57 pm #224456From the top 7 clubs they have all except for Spurs and Newcastle made better signings than us so Im not having high hopes. I also dont believe Simons and Garnacho will make much difference should they join. We will see.

21st August 2025 at 4:01 pm #224464Rover – tough to disagree, but the proof will be in the performances. Estevao could be the best signing of any if he lives up to the hype, and in Delap we hopefully have a striker that is a proper target man.
I’m not convinced by Arsenal’s signings – all of us would have found Madueke hugely frustrating, and Gyokeres has only performed in the Portuguese league where almost 30% of his goals were penalties. Zubimendi is class though.
City have bought well.
Liverpool have signed Wirtz who looks quality… dunno about the rest to be honest.
I’m more concerned about our lack of a decent CB replacement for Colwill and our keeper options. The Eze shot should have been saved, it was just slightly to the side of Sanchez. It seems that Penders is considered to be our next Courtois so we just have to go along for the ride.
