Ed cannot disagree with that. United are in a far worse situation than us. They have more deadwoods than us. And I bet they must be jealous seeing the progress Chelsea have compared to theirs. We finished in the top 4 and we won trophies (Conference & CWC). While they won nothing last season and especially they finished so low in the table. But beware, they bought well despite too expensive. Cunha and Mbeumo are proven quality in the Premiership and they know how to score. Compared to Hojlund, Garnacho etc.

Sterling and Chilwell are part of the “old” regime where we afforded high salary for a player. I just hope they still have desire to play, desire to join the England national team again, so that they will actively seek to move. Like Veiga and Petrovic for example. But so far no action.

I don’t think we should buy until we can move out some unwanted players. Veiga, Felix so far still rumours. Same as Jackson or Disasi. Nothing concrete yet. We do have Anselmino, I wonder whether he can play LB?

Jackson I think we should lower our price. 80-100m isn’t a reasonable price, no club will buy Jackson at that price. I think we should accept bids starting 60m poundsterling for Jackson

I see TT has closed down, last time i posted on any of these sites must be about 5 years ago, anyway it was a good close to the season for Chelsea and hopefully they can kick on more although I have to say the other top 5 or 6 clubs have strengthened considerably compared to us in terms of individual quality and they appear to be not finished yet. See how it pans out.

Aindro, normally I’d agree with you regarding Jackson and his valuation. However, Ekitike has just moved to Liverpool for 79m.

Jackson has a better record in a better league than Ekitike. It could be that Ekitike is more highly rated in terms of potential, but we shouldn’t be selling him for much less than 79m if that’s what people are stumping up for players with an inferior record, especially since Jackson is on a ‘modest’ deal which has about 7 years to run.

Blaze welcome back. Keep posting, mate. As you see, you may have recognized that some of us came here from Teamtalk.

Rumours that Juventus and Leverkusen are interested on Sterling, I think it’s still far from materialize at this time. His salary is too big. But I would be happy if Chelsea are able to send him on-loan and avoid paying his full salary. And Atletico don’t seem to want to pay 40m Euro for Veiga. I would say, reject their offer. They have to pay our asking price if they want Veiga. In case the transfer falls through, Veiga can be used as LB cover. Felix on the other hand, I can’t see his role in this team. And his salary is high. I would happily sell him at a loss to Benfica.

And I am not sure about all rumours about Xavi Simons. Do we need him? We have Palmer, Enzo, Nkunku, Joao Pedro all able to do the playmaker. Unless the rumours that Madrid want Enzo for 150m Euro are true. I still wouldn’t see Enzo though. He has improved nicely. If we sell him, it has to be for a very handsome profit. And Simons is from RB Leipzig. Haven’t we learned? Werner, Nkunku from Leipzig both flop

Yeh, the Xavi Simons deal is a bit of an odd one and RB Leipzig players have a mixed track record outside of the Bundesliga. It doesn’t harm us to have a bit of extra cover in the wide areas, as these areas are fundamental to our success with the system that is being implemented.

Jorrel Hato looks like a decent signing – cover for Cucurella and also able to play CB. He’s younger than Veiga and looks like a good player so should be a good addition if we get him.

I still think we need another CB to play alongside Colwill – Fofana is injury prone and Tosin isn’t top class.

I may sound like a broken record but I can’t understand why we’re not linked with any keepers….

Other than that, it seems we’re not in for Isak who I think would be great for us but I suspect the fee would be too large. We seem to be making meaningful and positive progress on outgoings regarding Carney, Veiga and Felix. We’re in good shape.

Ed- I donโ€™t believe the owners have any plans to bring in a new goalkeeper this summer. From whatโ€™s being reported, the club seems intent on integrating young Mike Penders into the first team next season. That means for now theyโ€™re placing all their trust in Sanchez.
While he has had some good moments, I still donโ€™t feel entirely confident with him as our first choice keeper. His inconsistency, decision making, and occasional lapses under pressure make it risky to rely on him as the main man, especially when weโ€™re aiming to climb back into the top of the league. A top goalkeeper isnโ€™t just about shot stopping they command the backline, instill confidence in defenders, and play a huge role in building from the back. If Sanchez canโ€™t consistently provide that, we could find ourselves vulnerable again, especially in tight matches
Adding to that concern, there’s growing talk of the club selling Chalobah purely for profit, which further weakens our already thin defensive options. It makes the need for a reliable, commanding center back even more urgent especially if injuries hit like last season.
If they are serious about stabilizing this team, they need not only to secure a new centre back, but also to consider whether Sanchez is truly the long term solution or if a more experienced, dependable goalkeeper is still needed to bridge the gap before Penders is ready. Mike Magnon was and is still available for peanuts and there was definitely an interest at the beginning of the window, but that interest seems to have died down. I believe he would be the ideal solution for this young team as he would bring experience and leadership skills .

Whatโ€™s worrying is that players in seem to be closer to materialize than players out. It looks like Atletico wonโ€™t match our price for Veiga. Yet we seem to have agreed personal terms with Hato. No further news on Felix either.

Keeper, while noone is convinced about Sanchez, I think that he deserves another chance after a great performance during CWC.

We seem to be signing and going for similar type players, I dont think it’s necessary to sign Simons or Hato, what about all those wonderful youth players we have, are they going to get a bit of game time with the first team? Highly doubt it. We need to rather layoff a lot of unnecessary players on the books. Problem is we valueing them too high for clubs to be very interested. Rather make some money on surplus players than having to financially be burdened with their wages and everything else that comes with it.

Same old problem stockpiling players and then sell them at a loss. Nothings changed much. Just paid a penalty of 34m for going over the limits. They dont seem to mind though.

Zizi – that’s a fair assessment. I would be loathe to see Chalobah go without us bringing in another CB to play alongside Colwill. Tosin doesn’t do it for me.

GK is a position where the owners should relax the policy of only signing young players with potential. Keepers can be top class well into their 30s. Anyway, let’s see how Penders develops, apparently he held in the same regard as Courtois was when we had him as young player.

Hearing from Romano that Al Nassr are looking to snap up Felix. If so, I would assume they will stump up significantly more than Benfica would and it’s a no brainer to let him go there. Maybe we can shift Veiga to Saudi, though I would assume he’d be keener to stay in Europe than Felix might be.

Blaze – I agree regarding Simons, I don’t see the logic in signing him, but then again I don’t know much about him. Hato on the other hand appears to be a very promising young defender, who can also provide cover for Cucurella which is something we need.

the problem with Hato or any other top signing is they expect to play, Cucerella will start just about every game, will Hato agree to being a sub, I can’t see that. Same with other top players, their high values tell you they expect to start most games and as every game is tough you tend to start with your best available team in both PL games and CL games. Who would want to be a manager.

With UCL next season, I cannot see Cucurella starting all matches. It would be helpful if we can find a backup for him. But it looks like Ajax are playing the hard ball. I wouldnโ€™t overpay for Hato. We still have Veiga in our books who can play LB. Even Malo Gusto to switch flank.

It looks like we will be able after all to sell Felix with Romano confirming agreement with Al Nassr. And a decent amount (in form if add ons) that would match his price when we bought him.

Any idea when our preseason will begin?

Aindro I read that the players will assemble for pre season training on the 1st which is very dangerous as theres only 2 weeks before the league starts, having said that I do realise they also needed a break which was not possible because of the CWC which we won. So dont expect too much at the start of the EPL season.

Thanks Blaze for the info. That’s why on CFC website it’s kinda quiet at the moment. Indeed we’ll be very late compared to other teams but we participated in the CWC until the very end. So we kinda have no choice as players need to rest also. Is there a chance that players not participating in CWC have started their preseason?

Not much on the transfer front. As expected to be honest. Penders joined Strasbourg on loan confirmed, but we already knew that. I expect Felix to be sorted soon, probably the end of this week as it’s clear that he wants to leave and there’s at least one concrete offer already.

Felix is sold. Itโ€™s a shame that we couldnโ€™t use his potential, but at least we may be able to recover the money with the add-ons clauses with Al Nassr. One player not in the team out. And we sold a youngster to Strasbourg. If we can sell Sterling, or Chilwell, I think I would consider this window to be really good and productive.

Hato seems to have been agreed with Ajax. I think itโ€™s really important to have an understudy for Cucurella.

Not necessarily. We have Pedro Neto, Gittens, Estevao, Tyrique George. And Cole Palmer can play right wing as well like during the CWC. Nicolas Jackson can play on the wing too. But rumours are still saying that we were interested in Garnacho. My guess is that we will loan out Tyrique George to get experience like we do with Guiu (to Sunderland, loan, seems to be almost 100% sure).

The loan quota with our sister club Strasbourg is confirmed: Penders (GK), Kendry Paez & Mamadou Sarr.
For me, the sticking points are still Raheem Sterling, Chilwell, Disasi who earn a significant salary but are not part of the squad

Blueisbest – Yes, it seems the strategy of ‘stockpiling’ talent on long-term contracts is proving to be a shrewd one. Along with the Club World Cup windfall, and the ability to strike a far better deal for a front of shirt sponsor having qualified for the CL and won the CWC, things are looking up financially. Tyrique George might be on his way as well. Chilwell/Sterling also need a home.

On the footballing side, I’d like to see us move Jackson on for a nice return but we would need to sign another striker.

Garnacho? At his age and with his potential, I wouldn’t say no, but I don’t want to see us spend too much.

Xavi Simons? Looks like it will happen and

Still need a better keeper and a CB (along with a striker if Jackson goes). I have a sinking feeling that we’re stuck with Sanchez though with the possibility of Penders taking over the season after this one. It will be interesting to see how Penders gets on because we won’t be winning the title until we have a GK of Cech/Courtois quality, and a CF of Drogba/Costa quality.
