Arsenal fans were actually signing petitions to block Madueke’s move. I was worried it might not go through. Glad we managed to offload him; he was disruptive and had ongoing disciplinary issues. Getting £52m is a steal. As for Jackson, I think we should keep him. He’s still young and was carrying too much responsibility the last 2 seasons. With less pressure now, he could be a real weapon off the bench, his pace can trouble tired defences. He just needs support and confidence from the staff. Selling him to another Premier League club could seriously backfire; the talent is definitely there. I also hear rumors of Rodrigo from R Madrid, I don’t think we need him as he isn’t hungry enough and might disrupt the dressing room with his ego. he wont come cheap earthier. we could use George and promote from within. when are we ever going to utilize our academy products, Josh is better than Badishille but we don’t use him more.

Yes, Madueke is decent and useful but he is not untouchable. We just got fined by UEFA (or FIFA?). We don’t want to violate PSR. Even though Lyon were reinstated, we don’t want to go there. So I think we have to sell anybody untouchable that generate interests from other clubs. I certainly would want more money for Madueke as we bought him for 30m. We should have held for 55m at least IMO. But it seems that we accepted a 52m offer from Arsenal. On the other hand it seems that we would sell Amougou (that we just bought 6 mth ago) to Strasbourg and Petrovic to Bournemouth for 25m seems to go through also.
And no to Rodrygo. We have enough forward and winger now. We’ll have Estevao & Gittens. We have 3 strikers at the moment. I can’t see Joao Pedro playing winger to be honest. So if there’s a good offer for Jackson (above 60m): I reckon we should sell him.
And if Amougou to Strasbourg go through, and then we’ll be able to loan Penders to Strasbourg together with Kendry Paez and possibly another youngster to fulfill the quota of 3 loans per club: May be Mike Maignan will be back on the table as we would now have only 2 GKs (I don’t really count Slonina)? Sanchez is not bad, we can go next season with him as no:1. But look at how he was sleeping against Fluminense only to be bailed out by Cucurella. Filip Jorgensen looks ok but nothing extraordinary either.

They saying Pederson is being groomed for the no. 1 keeper in a years time so no point in spending money on another keeper, we have to take our chances with Sanchez and Jorgensen for now.

No confirmation until this moment about any transfer. Which is understandable as the club is still focusing on the CWC final. But I would be surprised if the 3 transfers (out) mentioned (Madueke, Petrovic and Amougou) don’t go through. And with Petrovic sold and Penders loaned out (Kepa had been sold), Gaga Slonina should not be loaned out so that we have 3 GKs. And I just read that Madueke left for UK to complete the medical at Arsenal. So he won’t play in the final
I read yesterday about Benfica interested in Felix and some clubs interested in Nkunku.

Aindro no club on earth unless it’s a oil rich Saudi club will pay 60m for Jackson. We will be lucky to sell him for 40m. Anyway it looks for now he may stay as I haven’t heard anything. Will probably be 3rd choice striker if he stays. Chillwill may be going to United I read.

Jackson lacks ability, charisma and character, we dont need or want him. Think though we still need another striker unless they plan to use Guiu as 3rd choice striker. Not convinced by him either, looks a bit clumsy on the ball. I dont know about the younger ones in the academies but what’s the point of having them if they not able to get opportunities.

With us winning the CWC, I believe the prize money should ease up a bit our financial worries. Joao Pedro basically has paid back his transfer by scoring goals in the semi & the final.
Still if there’s interest for Jackson above 50m, I reckon we should sell. We would make a handy profit as I can’t see how Jackson can compete with Joao Pedro or Delap who are more complete players. If he becomes our 3rd striker and doesn’t get a lot of matches: his price will decrease a lot. Better to sell him now than later. Our 3rd striker can be Guiu or Nkunku (if there’s no buyer for him).
Amougou out confirmed, tomorrow or Tuesday we should see the confirmation for Madueke & Petrovic. Those 3 transfers should bring us around 89m pound. Not bad.

No news on the transfer front so far. I found it a bit disappointing as I was expecting Madueke & Petrovic to seal the deal to bring cash to our coffers. But I still think these two are done deal. Another very possible deal is one of youngsters (don’t remember the name) to Strasbourg permanently. And it’s also almost sure that we will send Anselmino, Pender & Kendry Paez on loan to Strasbourg.
Others like Joao Felix, Chilwell, Nkunku are IMO still unfounded rumours and there’s zero certainty they’re gonna materialize. I am surprised that Chilwell is still 28 years old, still in his prime. He was the best left back in the country for a while until his injuries. And now no club is interested to buy him?
About Veiga, I think it’s him who seeks first team football. He was not bad at all when he got the opportunity to play. But with the world cup to come, he wants to be a starter to enhance his chance to feature for Portugal. We are no stranger to this situation with Lukaku & de Bruyne in the past who prioritized first team football

The Premier League summer transfer window is open until 1st September 2025. The club and its owners only just completing the current season which has had the attention of all. footballing commitments probably the reason for inactivity plus they likely consider sales a bit of a priority with our bloated squad apart from the need to balance the books a bit. I’d say someone is working away feverishly in the background however I have a feeling they are willing to run another season with Sanchez after his heroics against PSG. Cover for Cucurella may be all they are looking at. Maybe Fofana is not far away, who knows. Tosin and Badiashile while certainly not world class have been adequate and Colwill and Chalobah clearly now first choice.

Petrovic is confirmed! So 25m pound into our coffers. Madueke shouldn’t be far. While Sanchez isn’t world class, I think his performance in the final & him winning the golden glove award of CWC should be appreciated. I notice he doesn’t do stupid short passes anymore during the tournament. It’s a massive improvement as his shot-stopping has always been good. And his pass to Gusto, that one was a world class.

Blue, Jackson was never quite ready to lead the line for a club the size of Chelsea, and that’s fair to say but that doesn’t make him a bad player. In fact, he brings a lot to the table. He presses well, forces mistakes, and causes real panic in defenders with his energy and movement. I see him thriving more as a second or even third option in a strong squad. Off the bench, he can be a real weapon especially late in games when defenders are tired. What concerns me is the possibility of letting him go too soon, only to watch him flourish elsewhere, just like we did with Salah and De Bruyne. That would be a painful repeat. Also worth noting is his natural position was never truly as an out-and-out striker until Chelsea shifted him there. He can be very effective cutting in from the left as a wide forward, which gives us even more tactical flexibility if we keep him. Garnacho brings a lot of baggage and disciplinary issues, i rather keep young George than bring in that Manchester reject twat.

What’s the delay with Madueke? Something not right found?? It’s weird, I’d prefer Arsenal and Chelsea announce the deal and we can move on. We are linked with some players like Morgan Rogers, Eze, Garnacho: I think all are bollocks. We don’t need them. We bought Gittens, Delap & Joao Pedro; Unless we sell Jackson, I don’t think we need anymore attacking players.
Zizi, while Garnacho has disciplinary issue, I think he has enormous potential. I don’t wonder players have issues at Man Utd, it’s a club with a lot of instability IMO and too much expectation. Moreover he only gets 50k week at Man Utd and he is considered home-grown. Jackson earns 100k per week, twice than Garnacho at the moment. We can save some money here as Jackson is amongst our highest earners.

Madueke to Arsenal confirmed, at last. Would Joao Pedro take the no:11 shirt vacated by Madueke? I hope he would.
Sterling was bought during Tuchel’s era. It will be difficult to offload him with that kind of salary. The best we can do would probably loan him out like last season and subsidize his salary. It’s just crazy that the best paid player isn’t even in the team.

Sterling is just another Winston Bogarde I reckon. Most footballers would not want to be permanently benched because it is not just a job to them, it is the passion of playing. No one is going to take on Sterling with his current wage structure so one would think he would accept a decent drop in wages to resurrect his playing career elsewhere. For some reason I cannot see Sterling putting that out there. He is now 30 years of age and in the run home to retirement anyway. Raking it in for a once in a blue moon participation in a football match. Even Arsenal benched him most of the time his form was that ordinary and didn’t look greatly like he could give a sh–. Very much another Bogarte happy to drain the football club. My favourite saying from an average geezer that has always battled for an average wage, just doesn’t understand it. “When is too much money never enough guys???”

We have 2 players for every position except left back, think theres plenty of other options available there too. If you looking for a 3rd backup cause multiple injuries can occur then that should be from your youth setup, you cannot keep on buying and addng to a bloated squad. The 3rd choice will in any event get very little game time. Whose to say those players in the youth are not even better players than all these expensive unproven players clubs get linked too.

Chelsea1967: idem here, I can’t see Sterling, and in a lesser case Chilwell, going anywhere. Nobody wants to take them and they don’t have any ambition anymore it seems to me. It’s a wishful thinking but I just hope a club (wherever it is, Saudi, Premiership …) would take them on-loan. At least we won’t need to pay their full salary. Bogarde, of course I remember him rotting in our reserve squad for 4 years. A really uninspiring person. But it’s his right. He had a contract and Chelsea had to respect that.
Rover: as far as I am concerned, I think our transfer (in) activities are done. All I am curious to see is who will be out. We need to trim our squad. For me if Benfica want a cut price for Felix, just approve it.

Aindro – I agree regarding Sterling/Chilwell. We’re in the same, albeit far less toxic, situation as United are with Rashford, Sancho, Casemiro, and to a lesser extent Mount and Garnacho. To Sterling & Chilwell’s credit, they have never thrown their toys out the pram or gone out clubbing etc.
I commend our current owners for the culture and salary structure they have imposed on the club. We can see the relative ease with how they move on players who are unhappy – for example, nice profit on Madueke, another decent profit to come with Veiga, Petrovic sold for decent profit.
We can do this because we put players on long, well-paid yet not exorbitant contracts (young players accept this because who doesn’t value long term security???), whilst not leaving ourselves vulnerable to being held to ransom like United currently are. They’re broke because of their previous transfer policy. The moment you sign a Galatico on a massive contract, you expose yourself to various members of the squad demanding parity when they have a good season.
Buying Sarr – we book the transfer value now, loan him back for development and have his wages paid for, and bring him back when his value is up and either he succeeds, or we move him on like Veiga. That’s the game these days. I don’t like it, but the market always reacts to the rules imposed.
I’m more concerned about the lack of news regarding signings – i’d like to see a No1 keeper (I preferred Petrovic but hey), back up LB, and another striker.
