Sounds a daft and obvious question from myself, but when we lose out, is the decision made largely down the Wage/Wedge we’re not prepared to pay the player weekly? Or, is that “show me the money notion” splurged by those clubs wanting nail his signature?

WTF The way things are going, we’re gonna have to send an SOS message for Salah to comeback for one more season!

Hows it come to this? We could do worse than taking pedro neto(can play either side) and minteh/savinho and selling gakpo(bad idea) and Elliot to balance the books?

Judging by whats coming out diomande and barcola will be a no go… so maybe look at options b and c now… grt them bought and integrated before the season starts!

Anyone fancy putting up a first choice starting 11? I keep reading we need this or that but we can only play 11 players at once and I think many of our team will expect to be first choice. You can add proposed transfers in if you wish. Please don’t give me the old “long season, everyone will get a game” or “tough if they think they’re first choice, they do as they’re told” nonsense, or even the classic “we need options”. I’m talking g first choice 11 with players that will largely be first choice in the majority of our games.

Particularly interested to see where you lot think Szoboszlai will play or how the midfield will set up.

Squad depth is different, and I think Munoz signing was for this, and of course this can always be improved. This is where “options” factor in.

Thanks Sean, I think my team would be pretty much the same. Does mean if we get a new no 6, whether a traditional defensive midfielder or I think more likely a deep playmaker like Wharton, then Gravenberch becomes a rotation squad player. Good thing is he can rotate with either of the two midfield positions, but that’s a 280k a week player with the status of basically 2nd choice.

And if we do get Wharton like I still think we will, he and either of Szoboszlai or Gravenberch in the middle scares me, especially if both full backs push forward.

Glad you wrote that, it’s been my argument against buying Scott as some have suggested. Good player, doesn’t solve anything however.

Of course Szoboszlai playing deeper, or at least coming from deep, means he is less around the penalty area which is ideally where you want him, as opposed to say he played the 10. Good job he’s a fantastic runner!

I like dom pressing high and being a goal threat. Wirtz great from the left too.

With signings, no injuries – not completely breaking the bank (which we cannot afford after the shambles of getting zero for AA, salah, konate, robertson).

Barcola’s a good player, but he’s definitely not a game-changer or a star, and he doesn’t dominate a game like say Dembele, or Mané, Salah and Díaz did for Liverpool – and that’s why he’s a bit-part player at PSG, never been a nailed on starter there, as Doué starts before him most of the time, and definitely in the big games.

And that’s not a bad thing either btw, because he’s still young, only 23, and if he moves to the right club, he can become the main man there, if he can just develop an elite superstar mentality, and depending on the coach, of course.

My stance is the same, his price is about £80m, and Liverpool must not be fleeced by PSG into paying much more than this amount.

Otherwise we look elsewhere, and there definitely are other well priced wingers around, even in the PL.

Mac, barcola is not a right attacker. If we are buying players, play then in their beat positions mate

If we get barcola, we still need a right sided attacker chum.

Barcola is going to cost 100m +

Anderson and rogers 116/117 if we got him for 100-105m we be doing well. Tonali and ferndes ridiculous money. Transfers are seriously inflated and very very difficult to get a bargain.

Would have preferred Diomande, but that’s not happening. To be honest, not sure what great rw is available for us at the moment?

Did a little look into possible right sided attackers that we could buy with AI (no not Andoni) and after going through some unrealistic options like Olise or out of date jnfo like Quenda who is now at Chelsea we came up with these 3

1. Neto. If the price is right and is over his injuries. Couple of big ifs to be honest.

2. Rayan. Still buying potential really, but then so was Diomande. Probably my pick.

3. Akliouche. Not really a an explosive attacker or good dribbler, more a creator and we don’t need that profile. Besides looks Paris bound.

4. Wait for it… a return of an old transfer window favorite! Rodrygo. With Diomande likely joining Real he could along with Vini Jr be surplus. Has he been injured? Not heard much about him for a while.

And that was about it. Not a lot to go on.

Diomande would also be brand new to the Prem.
Rayan has played a few games at CF though but mostly in Brazil.
