12th July 2026 at 11:02 pm #250288Nothing seemingly in essence seems encouraging and fourth-coming to be filled with Hope. We may as well be a Daily Star or the Mirror in Tangible.
There is Nothing quite Frankly. TOXIC and Detrimental to Health. Season is really a long way to August the 21st or 20th even!!!

Well, i was told that there might be movement tomorrow, but considering Hughes couldnt be bothered to turn up to the first press conference to introduce the new boss… I wouldnt bank on it.
Hughes is still angry that Slot (his and Edwards choice) was removed under instruction, yes! Is he motivated to do his job when hes got a big fat contract coming his way…nope, not really.
Sadly, a lot of this is on the heads of FSG, the biggest question is, who replaces Hughes…another member of staff that has already left and come back?! Probably!
The only good news right now is the new gaffer who seems really in tune with the fans.

14th July 2026 at 11:17 am #250375Lot of noise about Joao Gomes coming. How’d you all feel about that? Have a feeling most would agree he’s the sort we have missed for a while, whilst Endo was largely overlooked.

14th July 2026 at 11:18 am #250376Isn’t Ward tipped to replace Hughes?
Can’t actually remember what his role is currently.

14th July 2026 at 11:34 am #250377Joao Gomes would be a good addition to the squad.
We were very interested in him when he was younger before he left South America, obviously under a different manager.
He will offer that defensive mindedness we’ve been lacking in midfield to help protect against counter attacks.
He’s reasonably priced also.If Endo left and Gomes replaced him I would see this as a lift as he’s more likely to get much more game time than Endo ever did the last 2 seasons.
However if that was the case it wouldn’t do too much to squad numbers.
We need to build a squad rather than just an XI.
Too often last season our squad was paper thin.
The bench was horrific at times.
The lack of options laid bare.We need genuine options to hold the course over a long season.

14th July 2026 at 3:09 pm #250399I don´t know why you lads are so worried, Tsimikas is back, there is no need to buy another leftback with him at Anfield. I rate him a bit better than Kerkez actually, Tsimikas got a excellent cross in him and has hardly ever let us down while defending. Robbo was just so good in his prime. Elliott is also back into the fold, the way Iraola praised him for his extra work pretty much guarantees that. Harvey is basically the first senior player to work with him at Anfield.
The only two positions I am worried about is the rightback and the right forward but I am pretty sure about 150 million will sort that out.
Like what happens in midfield depends on outgoings, there is question mark about the future of Endo, Jones and Macca right now. I doubt Endo wants a move right after his injury and he got a contract until 2027. I don´t think Jones wants a move to another English club and I reckon he would be prepared to run down his contract to get that move to Italy.
The big question is if someone will come in for Macca after the Marketing Cup. Cause if he goes we need to make a big signing to replace him just to appease the fans.
I´m not disagreeing with you that we need to change it up ginger but I think you are overestimating how many deals we need to do.
The same applies to Gakpo, I reckon the club would be willing to sell him if the right price comes in and then we need to find another forward. I actually think he is up for sale as we need other qualities out there than what he provides but it always depends on who is gonna go out.
If we start buying we would need to sell some players while every club knows we need to sell.
If we buy 4-5 players right now our squad will be bloated. We still got Chiesa as well, you have to agree that Chiesa and Endo could have had more games last season. Chiesa was our player of the month for December or something and then never got a start again.
We know that the club has allocated funds for around 100-130 million just for a right winger, we even know the profile we are looking for, it´s a forward between 20-24 years old, plenty pace, a lot of dribbling, should be able to play either wing and as a striker. International player and someone who is hungry for game time.
I don´t really care if it is Barcola or Diomande, they are basically the same player, slight differences in gamestyle but both would suit us. There are a few more forwards actually we could take a look at but the fanbase will have a go if it is not a high profile player.
The way I look at this is that Isak will basically get to play every game he is fit and considering how he has bounced back from a injury in the past we can expect him to play around 2500-3000 minutes. The new forward we are signing for the right flank is gonna play the same minutes, anything else would surprise me. Then we have Rio and Munoz who I expect to get around 1500-2000 minutes. Then there is Gakpo, who I really believe knows he gonna get reduced minutes next season, he saw how Rio destroyed him everytime Rio got to play. He knows he can´t stand in his way who would also get around 1500-2000 minutes or we sell him and get another forward in that gets the same amount of game time.
That left wing of ours is Rio´s for the next decade or more! I´ve never seen a clearer pathway for a kid since Owen.

14th July 2026 at 3:23 pm #250404There is not depth, nevermind strength in depth up front, in midfield or in defence.
We have not added.
We’ve changed a bit with far less experienced players but we have not added.
We need to build a squad not just an XI.

14th July 2026 at 3:30 pm #250405Arsenal flogging Trossard. A good signing for them.
Wouldn’t be shocked whatsoever to see Barcola putting pen to paper with them.

14th July 2026 at 3:35 pm #250406we were mismanaged last season, we were badly trained last season, everyone was on a holiday last season. Our players did not become bad overnight. Gravy, Szoboszlai, Wirtz, Macca, Jones, Endo, Nyoni are all there in midfield. We can only play 3 of them in a midfield of 3, we can also just play three of them in a 442d system. One of the first things I will judge Iraola on is where he will play Gravenberch. Cause he is a title winning holding midfielder and a 5th place playmaker.
Gravy and Wirtz have the longest contracts in midfield, we are building around them in midfield.
Same way we are building around Isak at the top, Rio is gonna come in and get at least double the game time, if not triple or more maybe. Munoz is one of the top young prospects from Spain as well.
Think about game time, there is only a limited amount of game time available.

14th July 2026 at 3:36 pm #250407They’re after Roger’s apparently but Barcola will defo be within their view.
They could be getting rid of Martinelli also.

14th July 2026 at 3:52 pm #250408Same rehashed arguement from last season re game time.
They didn’t hold water then we played a slow tempo game last season and they won’t hold water next season when we will play a high tempo game this coming season.
The bench was still light.
The options to change in game were light.

14th July 2026 at 3:58 pm #250409Reportedly Liverpool have rejected yet another bid from Inter for Jones.
This time for 32mil euro.
Iraola have said some very promising words regards keeping him but he’s still assessing his players.
I’m very happy for Jones to stay.
We need options in midfield.
And balance.
A change of Endo for Wolves’ Gomes would be very helpful also.

14th July 2026 at 4:04 pm #250410We have added minutes to our squad already, Rio will get all the minutes we can afford to give him, he could play 2500 minutes next season. He sure as fuck looks ready for it, with MOTM award in basically every game he plays in. Nyoni is another kid that can double or triple his game time. We still got Bajcetic on a contract. I actually think it´s too late for him as his body has been broken for the past 2 years.
we can expect around 2000-2500 minutes from our top 4 midfielders in the league, then we got 3 more, plus a few more in the u21.
If we buy another top target midfielder that midfielder would expect 2000-2500 minutes in the league alone, who is gonna lose out? Who do you wanna sell? The choice is between Macca and Szobo as they got the same date on their contracts.
Frimpong is not a bad player either, I think he was mismanaged last season, he is not a winger. Half his game time was from a advanced position.
If we sell Jones I think we only have two options to replace him, it would be Mora or Bouaddi, 17 and 18 years old. Should be able to get the same amount of game time.
I just believe that it could be really good to not force anyone out, let everyone compete for another chance. Having a settled squad can make a huge difference, cause unlike you lads I credit the team for the title win, not Slot. We had the most settled squad in the league that season with only Chiesa joining, then everyone was on their way out in a matter of six months.

14th July 2026 at 4:12 pm #250411There are very few players I’d be forcing out/selling right now.
Why?
Because we are currently so light in options. We need to be adding to the squad.
One I would be letting go is Endo.
Gomes would be a good replacement.
MacA would come into the conversation also. That would leave us with-
Szobo
MacA
Grav
Jones
Gomes
Nyoni possiblyFactor in injuries, loss of form, the amount of games to be played etc etc and there would be plenty of game time across the season.
If anyone else left they would need replaced also._____________________________

14th July 2026 at 4:14 pm #250412I think Iraola would want to keep Jones. Depends on other factors obviously such as if the player wants a new challenge or we have sights on a new midfielder (hopefully).
