Guehi played and scored last night and still doesn’t get his move because of the incompetence of his own club.
I dare say he’s not too happy.Can see us going back in Jan, and probably get him for less.

It’s a huge shame for us, even bigger for Guehi. It is strange that they waited until now to try and sign a replacement. Possibly our own fault too for not moving sooner in the window.

By the end of Jan they could be out of all cups and not pulling up any trees in the league with a bit of luck. Steve Parish might feel less inclined to listen to glasner’s threats and we could try again for bargain.
In the meantime, Konate needs to work out how to play like he did yesterday, every week and Gomez needs to try and stay fit for more than 24 hours. Fingers crossed!

Song, with all due respect, far from pointless, Leoni is new to the PL, Konate inconsistent and injury prone, Gomez the latter leaving Virgil to essentially not get much of a break until we perhaps go back for Guehi in Jan. Guehi would have helped rotation and added quality in a major way.

Song – disagree – Guehi totally necessary. In the circumstances that a 34 year old VVD gets an injury, an injury prone and erratic Konate also gets injured or loses form. Who are meant to rely on? A 19yr old Italian with about 20 senior appearances and an even more injury prone Gomez?
It is what it is but I think you’re plain wrong.
It’s been a fantastic window but with a little bad luck on the injury front and it could get sticky.

Apparently, Guehi’s been really cool and professional in his behaviour. Not out of the question at all for this all to be shelved till Jan.
Now for us to rely on what we have. Gomez is still a good pro and will step up. New Guy Leoni too so there is hope.

No Macclad, I’m absolutely right.
Last season ae easily won the league with 4 CBs, and now we have 4 CBs, so what exactly has changed? And Leoni should be at least as good as the error-prone Quansah, whom he replaced, otherwise he wouldn’t have cost so much.
And as a last resort, Endo can play there, in the lesser games.
In my opinion, there will be no problem. And in the unlikely scenario that there is a big problem, we can sign a CB in Jan.
