Buffy must be on hols, otherwise she would have been telling us how a shitty window Arse have had….
But what a brilliant window has in fact been for Arse, and it could get better still if they manage to offload Monreal,Mustafi,Mikhi and Ozil.

most of us not expecting too much from Chelsea hoping for a top 6 finish however it is for now the right way to go about team matters, besides the transfer ban there are restriction rules bringing in expensive classy players and not that many around anyway. Luiz while he may have a lovely character on the outside is also not going to sit on the bench for long and would soon start spewing out anti management rhetoric like most Brazilian players do and like him and Willian did when Conte did not favour them. So for now the club have done everything possible correctly. Don’t expect too much myself but hoping for the best luck possible for the team.

Assessing the transfer window of the top 6 I would say:

City had a just about an Ok window.

    Liverpool a nothing window.

Chelsea in losing Hazard and having a transfer ban had a bad window but the returning youngsters might be interesting.

Spurs a decent window plus considering they held on to some key players that looked like leaving.

United a bit less than an ok window.

    Arsenal had the best window.

I think us Spuds had a bit more than a decent window considering the lack of outgoings… most of us were expecting more than just Trippier to leave (still wonder what those comments were about!), and would think it was explained to all those with one foot out the door if you don’t go before the 8th, then you won’t be going anywhere (despite it still being open until Sep 2nd everywhere else!).

Goonies are certainly fav’s for 4th now they got a couple more at the back… time will tell!

Chuckster, I was focussed on incomings tbh, if I included outgoings it would have written it up as a terrible window for Chelsea.😊

But I agree with you holding on to players like Eriksen is a big plus although what happens from here with him is open to conjecture, the Spurs squad is stronger than last season and Spurs have a full season in their new ground now so I’m expecting a good season from them be interesting to see whether they can push City and Liverpool for the title.

I’m not going to get my hopes up to fair with regards to a title push. If everybody in the squad knuckles down and plays as well as we know they can, and our “injuries” aren’t as bad as last year, then maybe. Still concerned about RB, but obviously Poncho has some sort of plan there, we’ll just have to see what it is. Overall, I’ll be very disappointed if we don’t finish in the Top 3, and maybe a Cup if Poncho takes them a bit more seriously (the domestic ones!).

Anyway, you have to consider the squad as a whole I think, what it was when it started, and what it was when it finished. No point in signing Messi if you sell your entire 1st team to pay for it!! 🙂

Fair point and I’ve suitably amended my assesment above.

Good point Mav it can’t be a true assesment until all the windows have closed. How bonkers is it not to have a unified transfer window across the whole Europe inc the PL.

Really Goose?? What else you want to tell me I don’t already now? (Except what my sisters do on a Friday night, don’t need to know about that! 🙂 )

Chuckster, the above doesn’t really work with Eriksen though does it.

If Eriksen continues to refuse to sign a new contract Daniel might well accept an offer from Real than lose £50m in January as he can sign on a pre contract free then.

Reports suggest Frank allegedly to be given a £200m transfer budget once the transfer ban is over.

I’m surprised thought it would be more than that. 🙂
