The biggest issue about Sesko is not necessarily that he’s not fully fit, even though everyone was apparently astounded at how fit he was on arrival, it’s that Amorim wanted Watkins and not him. So the questions, as has been put higher up on this thread, is: “Will Amorim play him regularly if he didn’t really want him in the first place?” The same can be said for Lammens, did Amorim have a preference for Martinez?
How the higher ups in the club allowed all of Cunha, Mbuemo and Sesko to be bought, at a combined cost of approximately £210m, when both Cunha and Mbuemo can play as a striker AND we also have Bruno and Amad who could play as ’10’s. How the fuck did someone not say, we need a fucking midfielder, a proper one, and badly? It’s just an abvious symptom of the absolute fucktardedness that has become endemic in the club in the last 15 or so years (and I know Fergie left in 2013 but poor transfer decisions were being made prior to that)._____________________________

@killy and Sympathy you are both correct .. when we signed Sesko they claimed he came fully fit n prepared then out of no where he isn’t fit enough but was deemed fit to play 130mins against Grimsby .. i have reiterated if it was Watkins would Amorim treat him the same?? Zirkee is the one who isn’t fully fit n it was obvious with how gassed he was during the game against Burnley.. We just don’t Seem to create enough chances for whoever plays as a striker for us; many times Sesko has made runs in behind and through the channels but no balls were played in for him instead the focus has always been moving the ball moving out wide then passing it back into midfield which makes no sense..
As for not signing a midfielder it’s just plain stupidity to place your belief on Casemiro, Mainoo, Bruno n ugarte .. i didn’t mention mount as these past 3games he has been brilliant but Amorim will always play bruno ahead of him no matter how badly bruno stinks

We’re the club that everyone loves to see fail. The fact that the other really big club, Liverpool, were shit for so long in the 90’s and 00’s means that the media got out of the habit of giving a shit about them. The still don’t fill half the column inches that we do and we shouldn’t even be on the richter scale given our recent history.

Go look up Messi bloopers and you’ll probably find 4 hours of him missing and falling over. If you look hard enough you’ll find what you’re looking for whether it’s actually in context or not. Courtois said he’s young and bit raw but is the real deal. They said that about Cech too when he came from France, no-one expected him to walk into the starting slot straight away, soon but not immediately and he turned out ok. I’ll wait and see, and as said before, he can’t possibly be worse than what we have

I agree with Kane and Lewandoswki, but the likes of Suarez, Benzema, Rooney, Henry and Tevez are different. They not like these big lumps of strikers in todays games, they could bag goals out of nothing on their own. This is what made them really special.

I saw the same blacky and did chuckle but then almost immediately saw another showing he was the best keeper in shots saved and chances stopped or some such and that’s of any keeper anywhere by all accounts
No solid keepers anymore nearly all have gaffs in them it’s nature of the beast to get a few over a career just not several a season!

I would also have signed Mauni on loan with an obligation to buy if he scored more than 15 goals. We’ve reduced our wage bill through loans and could’ve taken a punt on him.
The system probably is more suitable for an Andy Cole type of striker who could outpaced a defender with a decent through ball. For Sesko to be successful he will need to be quick (not seen him in a foot race against a decent defender) and hold up the ball for one of our no.10s.

Happy with the signings of Mbeumo and Cunha. Not sure how much of an upgrade Sesko on Hojlund. Like everybody here, would’ve preferred that money was spent on a proper DM/ CM
No idea what to think of Lammens. Can he go straight into the XI or is he one for the future. Sancho really fucked things up for us, first rejecting Roma who offered us £20m, then rejecting permanent swap to Villa. I can’t imagine Martinez will be giving him a warm welcome, seeing as Sancho fucked up his dream move to United 😂
Decent window. I’d give it a 6/10. Any CM signing, even short term would’ve brought that up to a 7/10

So: was the transfer window a success?
Positives:
– Good amount of money spent to reinvigorate our front line as well as goalkeeper department (I don’t count Leon much as it seems we won’t see him much this year).
– Bought some solid players (Cunha and Mbeumo) as well as good potential (Sesko and Lemmens).
– Managed to get rid of the majority of the Bomb Squad (Garnacho and Antony for decent money with Sancho and Rashford out on loan) as well as clearing out some others that were expected (Lindelof, Evans and Eriksen) and others that maybe weren’t (Hojlund).Negatives:
– Midfield was not addressed despite being a key area.
– We maybe didn’t get the best players for the positions we needed (Donnarumma ahead of Lemmens as an example).
– Rashford issue kicked down the road instead of solved straight out, Sancho to be lost with no income from a transfer next summer, Malacia still here.
– Minimal investment in young players for the future (only Leon)For me it’s in the C+ or B- area of grading I’d say; decent enough (on paper) however, seeing how the window panned out, there was definitely a lot of room for improvement.

After signing Cunha and Mbeumo, priority should’ve been central midfield
Even Gallagher on loan would’ve been better than nothing
No idea what to make of the Lammens one. Is he much better than Vitek (or Kovar for that matter)? Is he competing for no 1 position? If we manage to loan out one or both of Bayindir/ Onana things may be a little clearer
