Upset Portugal got a draw there. Their antics throughout the game were shameful but people ignore it because it’s ronaldo and they’d rather see records broken than someone playing honestly. Spain should feel very hard done by.

Watching my Aussie team play France & they are hanging in there. The French are matching the Italians for the diving, contact or not. The commentators are fobbing it of as “smart play” but to me it’s the biggest blight on the game. The most annoying thing is they don’t need to, the gulf in quality is obvious & they should win comfortably. Regardless of who wins it’d just be good to see a good game without the diving & crap. I fully expect us to struggle & concede a few the longer the game goes but the lads are doing better than I thought.

He’s been very ineffective so far, for me. No doubting his ability but I’d like to see him light up a tournament, which I don’t think he’s done yet for Argentina.
Pogba was very poor. He’s such a frustrating player because his talent is without question but he just doesn’t show the consistency needed to perform at the top level every week. At least people might get off Jose’s back re not getting enough out of Pogba now.

Ed why would people get of Jose’s back he was the one who spent 90m on him! He’s probably worth about a third of that based on his performances since he’s been back. The PL is a much faster league that Seri A and I’m not sure he will ever make the grade as a 90m player.

You’re probably right Jim about him not being worth it but he certainly looked worth it at the time. If he’d kicked on from the player he was at Juve, he’d be a world beater by now but he just hasn’t progressed. I think Jose gets a lot of stick for not getting the best out of him but it’s clear the problem persists with France. I don’t blame Jose one bit for buying him. When the likes of Buffon and Pirlo say he’s the best young player they’ve ever seen, you expect to get your money’s worth.
