Fucking hell JM you watch some amount of football mate. Had it on in background and Spanish commentators were bigging up Wharton. Not sure if that is just because Madrid were linked to him or he played well. Heard he went off injured which would be a worry for me as he seems to be out quite a bit. Also looks like Villa have gone off a bit of a cliff. A lot of people praising Emery last year but looks like he could soon be under massive pressure.

Once you get that ’brotherhood’ mentality going it’s reasonably easy to sustain it when a few new players come in each year. United had it under Ferguson and won titles when on paper other teams were better. But, once it goes it can be difficult to get back. Too many changes at once, or bringing in lads who don’t subscribe to it can wreck it.

Pep, unfortunately for him I would perceive against his early years in the Prem to have lost his way. And yes, Arteta is so frightened of not winning the title, he’s set them up to not win the title. Have to say, given all the shouting round Liverpool, they were lucky to beat Bournemouth, Newcastle and Arsenal and for the most part they’ve not looked much better than ordinary, as if the additions have actually diminished them. Amazing what a winning mentality can do.
