13th July 2025 at 6:06 pm #221475@River, at least Chelsea owners are trying to build a team capable of challenging for the title. Even though you signed a lot of players, you still manage to sell a lot for good prices. While Delap is a promising young player, I am not convinced hes ready to lead a title charge. Nkunku and Jackson are decent options but not elite. Joao Pedro is a solid signing but I still think you need another world class striker. I suspect you might try to sign Garnacho before the window closes. Are your owners taking a break from signings players? π€

13th July 2025 at 8:52 pm #221481Chelsea have been absolutely excellent today; deserved 3-0 leaders.
It’s going to be a very interesting season for them this coming year!

13th July 2025 at 9:23 pm #221484SFTD, I’m really pleased for them, and it seems just from first impressions, Pedro could be the fit they need to take them to the next level.
Could be too early to say, but potential Title Challengers for me for next season.

14th July 2025 at 8:36 am #221505Did i slag off Joao Pedro?
I think i just compared his numbers from last season to Mbeumo’s – of which there is no comparison!
And if he cost Β£60m based on last years “form” then i can see why Brentford want more for their man.
Not really slagging him off. π_____________________________

14th July 2025 at 7:03 pm #221550So thatβs Gyokeres, Zubimendi, Norgaard and Madueke so far for Arsenal with perhaps Mosquera and Eze to come.
Five incomings for the scousers so far, notably Eirtz, Kerkez and Frimpong.
Chelsea bring in Gittens, Delap, Joao Pedro, Sarr from Strasbourg, Estevao and a midfielder from Sporting – so far.
City have Reijnders, Cherki, Sit Nouri and possibly Sangare to add to the 200 millionβs worth they signed in January.
Even if we add a couple more to Cunha, all the above are just pulling further and further away from us. Weβre right royally fucked!

5th August 2025 at 7:34 am #223063Just watched the highlights of Liverpool’s 2 games yesterday (they split their entire squad into two matchday teams and played 2 friendlies on the same day) and my word, both teams are miles and miles ahead of our team in all areas: physical strength, speed, counterattacking, getting up and down the pitch, picking out a pass, finishing… really can’t understand how we have such a gulf in class.

5th August 2025 at 8:42 am #223066@happyhurling – I can understand their entire squad being miles better than ours… but I can’t understand how they can split their entire team in half and STILL have BOTH be so much better… it beggars belief to be honest.
Mind you, I have enjoyed seeing a slight improvement from United up top in pre-season… but it is still clear that more signings are required if we want to get back into Europe.

5th August 2025 at 8:52 am #223068Sympathy – Yep, definitely need more this window. I guess our only hope is that all of their new players don’t gel immediately. I know its a long shot but they did have what seemed like amazing squad harmony last season. Will Wirtz, Ekitike, Kerkez and Frimpong all magically integrate and play amazing football from day 1? What about if they sign Isak as well – how will that impact their front line? It’s all been about Mo Salah for the last few years for them, these new players coming in seem to represent a different approach – maybe a slightly new style from Slott? Who knows/cares?!
Point is that we are only at the very beginning of our process under Amorim (and he inherited the opposite of what Slott inherited). It’s going to be a slow process to rebuild but i guess you have to enjoy the journey! Cheers_____________________________

5th August 2025 at 9:14 am #223070@happyhurling – I always “try” to enjoy the journey mate… it’s just difficult when you’re getting beaten week after week haha
I do like the look of Mbuemo and Cunha up front, and think we are looking much better offensively already… can we do it when it matters? Time will tell…
Also, the reason I “care” is because:
1.) This is a forum with the section titled “Rivals watch” and is literally an area dedicated to speaking about rivals
2.) I have an interest in football in general and also our rivals play a very big part in deciding where United finish at the end of the season π_____________________________
