That barca high line is so high.
Vvd even said other day its about conceding less goals. Our problem has not been able to defend from set plays to open on the counter and tactics in general. Certainly the intensity hasnt been there either.
I also think key players out of form. Macca and bradly no pre-season and robbo not playing enough minutes.
Madrid was the most solid ive seen us this season. What was the difference between that and other games? We just looked so much more compact but why
I dont remember robbo inverting as much?
Its two games. Interesting tests after international break againest teams who will play with a low block. Huge problem has been conceding the first goal in such games. Then tactics/formation go out the window and we throw on all attackers. Its chaos. We need to score 1st more regularly

6th November 2025 at 8:55 am #230044I’m fine if Isak goes away with Sweden as long as he’s physically up to it, but when he comes back his mins/integration into the team needs managed better.
After this international break we are playing 3 games a week CL/Prem until 13th Dec when we go to no midweek games until the end of the year. That’s roughly the time Salah departs for AFCON.
Use that period, between now and then, to ease him back into the team so when Salah goes Isak is much closer to where he should be in terms of fitness and performances.
That’s means, when Salah goes, Isak should only be playing every weekend which again helps build him up further.
The fixtures in the build up to/over Xmas arnt that bad.
Jan is a bit nuts though with 8 fixtures even with an 11 day break in the middle.
We could do with Isak fit and firing by then._____________________________

6th November 2025 at 9:30 am #230045Its a great run of fixtures on paper ginger chum but a lot of defensive teams in there who will play a low block. So be really good indication if we are on the right path.
Interesting to see what we do when mo is gone.

6th November 2025 at 9:35 am #230047I’m not specifically talking about the opposition Sean more so the amount of games and when they come; and in terms of how we could integrate Isak in.

Simple really Sean, just play our usual midfield (Gravenberch, Mac Allister, Szoboszlai) in all games from now on, to control the game and protect our defence more.
Except, of course, where a change in tactics requires it e.g. in an easier CL home game, where you can play Wirtz at No. 10, replacing Mac Allister.

6th November 2025 at 1:08 pm #230055Isak, injured frequently, as I predicted long before he even signed for us, simply based on analysing on his existing, poor injury record.
Nevertheless, I can’t wait for him to start for us to show us if he can back up his huge, overinflated ego on the pitch, to the benefit of Liverpool FC.

6th November 2025 at 2:54 pm #230062We need a firing Isak, who, despite those injuries, has a scoring ratio of approx. 1:2.2 games throughout his career. Ekitike has had a solid start but has scored only once in the league since that 3-2 win at Newcastle on the 25th Aug and bagged in just 3 games from his last 11 for us and (3 in 16 for club and country). To balance that we need Isak up and running and both our nines sticking them in especially with Mo buggaring off soon.

6th November 2025 at 3:25 pm #230067Songman, that midfield started v chelsea and utd and we lost so i think its more then that.
Macca getting fitter, robbo bringing a lot more calmness and us going with a back 4 that knows each other.
Also is there a tactical change lsst few games especially Wednesday and we look much more in shape without the ball. Lot of players in front of the ball

6th November 2025 at 3:28 pm #230068Thats it rob as ginger and no were saying he really needs to be eased back in and managed right.
Isak is quality but absolutely no use to us at the moment until 100 % fit

7th November 2025 at 10:40 am #230080Never, ever wanted us to sign Isak Rob, but now that he’s here it’s up to him to prove me wrong.

Sure, Sean, most notably Mac Allister getting fitter, and NOT starting with Isak and Kerkez, who haven’t yet settled in to the team, are major factors that have seen us improve in the last two games.
I also think that the midfield is tighter with Szoboszlai playing further behind at times (as some have observed over here) rather than a highly attacking No. 10 like Wirtz.
To summarise, the team has much better balance, and control, like last season.
