Just landed back from Spain and, judging by the result, a good one to miss. Any positives?

9th August 2025 at 3:10 pm #223333Doesn’t sound like it mate, the MEN report basically saying what most of us know about the disastrous state of the midfield with Casemiro now basically playing walking football for his 350k per week wages, and starting Mason Mount as some sort of false 9 is just a massive fucking piss take by Amorim.

9th August 2025 at 3:47 pm #223344Goal aside the first half was alright, second half never really got going. Created a few chances but no idea why we played that false nine nonsense.
If holjund is staying he should have started, and if not just embarrass him by starting Obi.
Players should have been given the chance to play with a number 9, so they get used to playing the ball into the box.
Hopefully Sesko is able to hit the ground running next week. Needed a presence in the box.

9th August 2025 at 3:59 pm #223346Maybe he couldn’t risk Hojlund if he’s lined up for the exit door which is fair enough, but just play young Obi up top for an hour or so and give him a bit more experience of playing in front of a big crowd. Either way, Mason Mount is certainly not the guy to be given that job.

9th August 2025 at 4:57 pm #223355Bayindir, Maguire, Heaven, Casemiro and Mount were simply not good enough in that first team. Cunha and Fernandes didn’t play well either, but we know they have quality. Midfield is a big problem and playing without a striker was tactically naive. The players also didn’t exert much energy and desire, which is a worry with Arsenal to come next week and they looked much sharper against Villareal (despite losing).

9th August 2025 at 5:42 pm #223359Mount scores last week so now he is a forward. Ffs

9th August 2025 at 5:47 pm #223360Yeah, just wonder whether Cunha is going to do the business. Bit of a stroller maybe? Heaven might become good enough but he currently isnโt. As for midfield, we know itโs the most pressing issue because Iโve been telling you all for several years ๐๐๐

9th August 2025 at 10:06 pm #223365We are now only a week away from the Arsenal game yet it seems to me that Amorim is still nowhere nearer to knowing his starting eleven now than he was 9 months ago.
The levels of imbalance within the squad are still off the fucking scale, and despite the crazy perception that we’ve had a ‘great’ transfer window so far we are still a million miles away from being anything other than mid table mediocrity, simple as that._____________________________

9th August 2025 at 11:50 pm #223373Time will tell, mate. You could very well be right. Three new players up front with a new system and new manager could easily go bad if they all three don’t deliver. Luckily Sesko is one of the three so he will score goals. More afraid of our spine, back 3 and cmf. Heaven, Maguire and Toro should never be tried again together. On top of that having a lousy keeper and no proper cmf player will certainly go wrong. Urgent to buy a keeper and s midfielder. Baleba for 100 big ones? So be it do it!

10th August 2025 at 9:25 am #223380Watched a rerun of the second half. Not great against a very average Fiorentina. There doesnโt seem to be any more awareness of Amorimโs system than there was last season. Amad being played out of position and no semblance of a midfield no matter who he puts in there. Mainoo is a modern day Ray Wilkins (but nowhere near as good) with his sideways passing. And Iโm hoping Sesko pans out, otherwise we may find weโve spent another 200 million on yet more pretty ordinary players. Itโs very disturbing and Iโm certainly not looking forward to the Arsenal game. Whatever ETHโs faults, and they were multiple, he had a habit of setting them up and winning the odd big game. Iโm afraid Amorim, as he proved recently, doesnโt seem to be able to do that.

10th August 2025 at 9:47 am #223381Amorimโs stubbornness to play Amad at RWB and unwillingness to tactically switch up his formation even in-game is baffling to me.. As for the Arsenal game .. we already know how that will end..

10th August 2025 at 10:17 am #223384Itโs the only position he can play Amad mate courtesy of our signings.

10th August 2025 at 10:28 am #223387Arsenal win 3-0 with Gyokeres scoring and Zubamendi “starring” – why the fuck do everyone else’s new signings hit the ground running?? Mbeumo looks like he’s eaten half the food in Cameroon since he got his big move. His ass is bigger than Luke Shaw’s FFS!!

10th August 2025 at 10:54 am #223391Yeah Mbuemo is our new Anderson. Why can’t he stay fit on his own when we paied 70 big ones?

10th August 2025 at 11:09 am #223392Amorim said after the match that we’re going to “struggle” once the season starts,no fucking shit Sherlock! Here’s a thought Ruben, instead of predicting impending doom every time you speak, how about doing your fucking job a bit better and stop hiding behind your fatally flawed system for once and set the team up to at least try to be more competitive?!
